Woooo . this is an open forum and i have the right to say anything ... and i didnt say i dont like ferraris ... i love ferrari more than anybody here ... but i cant praise anything from ferrari which is not something extra ordinary.....
Aesthetics is a matter of opinion and you don't have the right to say "anything." I think the 458 is a beautiful car and well done. It also performs extraordinarily well. However, your tone and type is easily banning material; that is not an opinion. There is no camaraderie or warmth to anything about your presence thus far.
lots of things in life are not made to please only you, things built to your blueprint. this car was not designed by you, for you. but, you are the type that still wouldn't be happy even if you had designed the car yourself...you'd hate it the second it was finished. there are lots of people in this world like you...and there's a guy here at F-chat that constantly b1tches about how this and that is ugly, blah blah blah, posting about a thousand times saying the same ol crap--in hopes that everyone will agree with him and validate his hatred. perspectives are wacked! if you'd accepted the fact that your ideas and opinions aren't necessary for something to be extraordinary, then you wouldn't make stupid posts and make yourself out to be an @ss. you don't like the design? fine. but that doesn't mean the car is 'ugly'. and those who like the design aren't idiots that drank too much of Ferrari coolaid.
offtopic:Today is 12, so a new content on the dedicated site should be available, but at least for now it isn't
new video but only nice bla bla on the technical aspects, design,... and no new pics or live video of the car, we should wait!
Part rear view is new, they zoomed over it from bottom to top. Took 3 frameshots of it and stitched them together to a single picture. Image Unavailable, Please Login
ok .. fine .. its not ugly ... i was wrong but i dont like it .... not my cup of tea .... ferrari's people are giving first preference to aerodynamics than design ....
Let's hope you're right! I like the prospect of making Lambo and Porsche step up their performance again. There's nothing I like better than seeing competing companies one-up each other resulting in better products for us all. We'll just have to wait and see what happens...
Actually thats much better. Tell us "why" you think its ugly and you don't like it......not just rant over and over that its ugly. Cause it does get real old, real fast. And to some degree I agree with you that the design direction is dictated more and more by aerodynamics and how the car slips through the airstream. I personally don't think its such a bad thing, but can definitely see your side. I highly doubt sportscar manufaturers of today and tomorrow will ever go back to the days of design for the sake of just beauty. Lots of compromises have to be made in that department. And if Ferrari had to compromise on that with the 458........well then thats a compromise I and seems lots here can live with. imo of course.
The 458 info shown is in many cases just a tease. You see it for a few seconds and it is gone. Great to see the rear view of the 458 that was captured; thanks JimF. Those motor parts cutaways are interesting with dished pistons that have really been worked over with short side skirts. It's hard to tell but the piston only has two rings? However those connecting rods look a bit tame by comparison. Lots of trick ideas used on the engine though. Show us more!!! CH
+1 Aerodynamics and advances in engineering dictate the design, most sports car manufacturers clearly adopt the progress paradigm.
