New camera I'm looking at takes SD/SDHC cards which I have only in limited quantity for other devices.... What is the brand of choice for quality cards? Amazon seems to have a lot from some company called Transcend but I haven't heard of them until now and there are some bad reviews. Looks like they have some Kingston which I have used in the past and barely anything from SanDisk which was my brand of choice with the previous camera.

So what is the brand of choice for a fast and reliable memory card? I don't mind paying more to get something that I won't have to worry about crapping out on me.

If moneys not an issue, Sandisc is the way to go.

Otherwise, Kingston are a good deal for the money, thats why I bought mine. Bit slower than the equivalent Sandisc, but I've never had any problems with it "crapping out of me".

Sandisks are always on sale though. I know at the time I got my 4gig SD (8 had just come out), I paid around $10.

I've had enough people tell me their "off brand" cards have crapped out on them I won't use anything else.

Nobody has mentioned speed. Right now I'm using a 266X Kingston 8GB compact flash with a 4GB as a spare.
