Did they put sandbags in the front trunk so it doesn't fall off the hoist ? Serious question, our dealer does that.

I read something similar in Evo magazine, coincidentally, when Paul Bailey was having his yellow Carrera GT serviced!

Thanks for the pictures Kuzi :)

I believe they may have put some ballast in front but I'm not positive on that. I noticed that the front hood was open so maybe they did. I emailed the mechanic to ask about that and will let you guys know what he says.

I'll have more pictures to share from earlier today. The mechanic took more components off the CGT but the most interesting part was this. For instance did you know that all four brakes have a duct that directs cool air directly into each rotor. The two in front are carbon fiber ducts and the two in the back are plastic. Also, there's a large vented opening in the front fender liners that also helps to keep things well ventilated. Just amazing being able to see those little details up close with all the body panels off.

Here's what the mechanic said when I asked about the rear bias issue on the lift:

"With the layout of our rack design its hard to keep the car tied down to the rack. Over night and all other times the veh will be tied down to the lift. As long as I am taking weight off of the rear it will be fine. As soon as any weight is removed from the front of the veh, I will tie the veh down at all times and use ballast in the front of the car to keep it down on the rack."

I hate to ask money questions, but what did it cost? I've always wanted a CGT, but always been turned off by $25K clutch jobs and so many CF pieces. I think that it would cost me a ton, being that I'd probably drive it so much.

Photos like that just wow me with how impressive the CGT can be! what a machine. amazing the engineering that went into that machine.

    awsome.

just curious, how much is that valve service, and just curious if you thought about knocking that off whilest you had it all pulled apart.

Hey, Steve.......got your email......I've spent many hours perusing and drooling over that site of yours. Incredible garage man!

My dealer actually recommended against the valve service this time around. Insufficient miles. I think the manual says 30,000?? They would have to remove the engine and tear into it quite extensively to have done that. And I quickly concurred with them "not" to have it done yet. Its extensive as is. The service manager sent this to me......with the caption "going on a test drive". :)
