I don't post in this section much, I don't work out , but saw a thread about home gym setups, so I thought it would be a cool thing to put here also.

Not much to see, just a 20 and 25lb dumbells.

Since I go to the gym I never use them, but I do bust them out sometimes before I go somewhere to get a slight pump.

I find an excercise ball and a mirror are extremely useful. The ball is better than a bench bcus its constantly working your abs & but to stabilize you. A balance disc is great for working abs and balance during a complex set.

That and a few dumbells, a recumbant excercise bike, TV, a station that includes dips and pull up bar, and some resistance bands and your all set

if you have the room I'd add versatile machine with 2 grips that you can position anywhere from directly over head all the way to down on the floor

For ski season I like to throw in a small trampoline and bounce 5 minutes or more, its as close as you can get to skiing without being on the slope

Just riding a regular bike 2 hours twice a week will burn off a lot of fat and build your legs up and your endurance

I highly recommend the Powerblock weights. I bought them for my P90x workout and absolutely adore them. I can go from 5-50lbs within seconds without the clutter or cost.

How are they in terms of durability though? Been thinking about these, but I'm not entirely sold on something that has the possibility of breaking during the first few uses. Sick of heading to 24 hour fitness, since all I do is get bugged there.

That gym is nicer than the one I pay $60 a month to work out at.

    no pics but I have:
Nordictrack treadmill this thing is great very comfortable complete with a/c and bottle holders for water and can run fast as hell on it to built very well also. I don't have a bench just a few weights going up to 50lbs other than that I have a basketball hoop and a mountain bike I prefer to workout while outdoors. No gym membership either

Oh, come on. That just trips the BS meter to the red scale....

Perhaps the gym in your condo? Apartment? Local gym?... surely not your
HOME GYM SETUP as per the OP....

Don't see a lot of home ANYTHING rooms with 2' x 4' fluorescent ceiling lighting...
Why not go with something a little more home-friendly?

It started out as a crude cement wall unfinished basement. I just added a drop ceiling , sheet rock walls, some mirrors and added the gym equipment a little at a time. Im 49 with a three year old little-boy.He is my motivation to get down there everyday.

I got no more room !

Besides if I added a squat rack then I would definitely have the nicest gym on FChat... I dont need that kind of responsibility ;)

Mine is pretty humble, but effective.

Iron Gym Extreme (AS SEEN ON TV!) :p
    2x 10 lb dumb bells
    5 lb bar
2x 45 plates (unused currently don't have a bar that will fit these plates)
    2x 25 lb
    8x 10 lb
    2x 5 lb
    2x 2.5 lb
Jump rope - during good weather, exclusively used to keep my dumbells tied together during individual arm extensions.

60 acres of hills and wooded trails...

I've had a set for 4+ years now. They're great, nothing really to break and alot less complex mechanically than other space saver dumbells. More in the class of something from body solid or powertec than bowflex, etc.

The main issue some people have is that you're hand is sorta constricted inside the block because there are 4 support bars that run at each corner of the block. However, these can also work double duty as additional handles for i) tri curls using 1 block for both arms or ii) squats.

Net, I highly recommend them if you don't have room for a dumbell rack.
