Man, I totally agree! They bought some other things from us for custom furniture. If I remember correctly, they bought a Stradale wheel, some OE carbon bits, and stuff like that. An Fchatter here has some of their creations -- and I must say, in spite of the price, they are simply gorgeous.

Jedi - I just bought the eBay-Germany one for you. If it's the correct one for your car, "MERRY CHRISTMAS! It's my gift to you.". If it's wrong, then I'll just cram it on the shelf for somebody else.

Should be here in a few days.

Mother Flipper!!!! I just found the one I had here. It was at the bottom of a box of F355 door handles. (Sensible location, right? :( )

The eBay one hasn't arrived yet. Here's what I have... would this work?

p.s. Thanks to a customer in California who bought the F355 handles that caused me to go into that box!

That looks like the one that's under the dash, not the one on top. I'm pretty sure the one on top doesn't have a horse (but I'm away from my car)

    Daniel,
Any chance of borrowing that one for a few weeks so I can pull a mold?

If the top vents are identical except for the cavallino, I can make one, remove the cavallino & make a mold.

No prob. If Jedi doesn't want it, I'll send it along. I also have a proper 328 one (I think) coming from Germany. I can send that one too if you're able to wait a few days.

Well, I'm definitely in the market for a few replicas, and hopefully ones with much better plastic at the hinge pins and that cross-connector.

I found the broken "spare" vent I have for a 328. Do you still need a vent to replicate?

The top one, with the horse logo, is the one from the older 308????

It looks like mine on top of the dash....those scoops in the outer ring are the grips to turn it...

Do you still have it Daniel??

At long last... I FINALLY have a center dash vent on the way.

Sorry guys - I missed the above posts over a YEAR ago.... no idea why I never saw
them - I think it's that blasted "Bold vs. non bold" text thing that tells us a new post
is in a section. Never saw the section go "bold".

Anyway, if anyone is looking for this vent, Jim400i is running an ad for 328 parts - he
had 3 of the vents and I just ordered 1, so he should still have 2 left.

I'll post a final "Yay! Vent replaced" picture once it's in place.

    Jedi

    Belated THANKS!! Daniel,
Somehow this got into my 'master patterns' box, but not onto my list of molds to be made.

Good news is it's on the list. However, it's going to be a couple of months before I can get to it. Probably sometime in November.

BTW, what usually gets broken on these? If it's just the link between the louvers I could supply a replacement for a lot less than a complete new assembly.

Someone mentioned the louver hinge pins, are they problematic???

After a false start earlier this fall, I started work on the mold(s) for the 328 Dash vent today.
Went into panic mode when I couldn't find the NOS one that Ricambi was kind enough to send to me back in '09. Thought I had all my dash vent patterns in the same box.

Fnally found it after a couple of hours somehow it had gotten into the box with my plastic seat trim patterns. Was about to throw in the towel when I remembered that at one time the box of vent patterns had been nested on top of the seat trim patterns.

Given where Ricambi found the part, ending up in the wrong place seems to be the nature of this particular vent!

Took a bit of head scratching but I finally got it apart w/o breaking anything(whew!!).

It looks like it's going to take a mold each for the two large rings, I will probably make a third mold for the two louvers & the cross-link.

Will try to post occasional pix of progress since there seems to be quite a lot of interest.

Goal is to begin limited production by 5-JAN.
