This is my first post on F-chat. I have been lurking for the past year. I recently purchased my first F-car. Contrary to popular belief you don't have to be rich to buy an F-car. I don't have a 6 figure salary or an education from Harvard. I'm a working class stiff that has saved my money and worked hard. I have never leased or financed a vehicle. My daily driver is a 20 year old Honda with 185k miles. I live in a 900sf house that was built in 1949.
I have never been married and have no kids. Owning a Ferrari is a choice and anyone can do it if they are willing to make sacrifices. Don't let your friends and foes discourage you. Stay focused and achieve your goal.

Not a bad way to go. There are ways to end up with an F-car, glad to see that you figured out how to get one.

there's just gotta be a punchline..the op is offering up a "way of life" to obtain an f-car..well..no wife...ok..happens to some..ergo..no kids..but ya put all that together with a 60 yr old house and a 20 yr old honda..and i say the post is b/s..at least i hope it is..who wants to live that way...if that works for the op..fine..but was this his means to an end, owning an f-car..sheesh..i'll take the 20 yr old honda..happily married, with 3 kids..in a 60 yr old house anytime...sounds like it's gotta be a joke..or i feel sorry for the ops.

And congrats on the 355 mate!! One of the MOST beautiful Ferraris ever made! :D:D

Please post some pics, would love to see it. :):)

I worked almost 7 days a week, 12 hr days for nearly 18 months straight to buy my first Ferrari cash. :D:D

It can be done if you work hard and believe in yourself. :):)

I agree. The model matters a lot too. I've seen plenty of people in old Ferrari's that have neither satisfying performance or styling over "normal" modern cars, but the owners just want to have a Ferrari and so settle for anything.

Who cares? The guy is just relating how he managed to do it. If it's fictional(which I doubt it is) then that doesn't really matter either. People have different ways of achieving their goals and it's their life anyway. Congrats on ownership! :)

I don't think there's a punchline. Not everyone is Uncle Moneybags, and not everyone shares the same priorities. I don't want a family, don't care about showing off with a fancy house, and nobody should feel 'sorry' for me. Sounds like this guy is similar.

Those guys who work 100 hours a week and don't get to play with their toys or see their families, those guys I feel sorry for.

I think you are missing my point. What I'm trying to convey is you don't have to be rich or live in Beverly Hills to own a Ferrari. There are regular Joe's like myself that own these type of vehicles. It's just a matter of priorities.

I have a friend that has a beautiful boat. Because he needs to spend every minute with his demanding wife he hasn't put it in the water in 2 years.

FYI, you don't owe these guys any more explanation then you've already given. Don't feel a need to post any pics either to prove anything. You'll probably have noticed over the last year how these threads can spin out of control if you play into the "dream stealers." Enjoy your F-car and whatever lifestyle you've created for yourself. It's your life :)
