can they be made to control the volume and track seek?? like my 612??
right now they both changes the dimness of the TFT screen which is really retarded.
they must have some other function especially the 599 has a cover to the stereo and have small knobs which isnt easy to use when driving.
im too lazy to break out the manual.
    help! thanks!

Nope they're useless, I asked the exact same question some months back and I got the same reply :( I this has got to be the greatest problem I have with the 599, I can't believe Ferrari didn't think of anything better to do with those buttons.

damn, i think i laughed at that question at the time, 'cause my 612 has them and are prefect for stereo controls. now i got the 599 with the same buttons but useless functions??
im swallowing my comments and breaking out the manual for sure, it cant be that stupid.

on 2nd thought, do u have the bose option? because i dont and i thought the bose people might get a better deal.

I have the Bose, and can't seem to make the buttons do anything except change the display brightness and toggle the odometer...useless indeed.

I have the Bose option, I like the sound, but like the above poster said, the buttons are still useless.

Infotainment (hate that word) manual. Push L button on knob IIRC (I use it all the time and cant remember whcih side, I think it is L). Menus of commands are in there. Has auto answer and voice accept for calls too on bluetooth. Damn bell that goes off is annoying as hell, but that is adjustable too.
    RTFM :p

The bell is way too loud. You can program the unit to have "Jeeves" say "incoming call, would you like to accept it?", then you say yes and you are connected. I prefer the voice control for almost all functions because the "text panel" is not visible in the daytime-I mean it isnt bright enough to see while driving, at least for me.
