I seem to remember a few recent statements.

 

The reporters have been hanging out at the other end of pit row: for Lewis in 2008 and Button in 2009.

I cannot believe I'm reading this. Nobody cares about personality in real life. There's a saying in America. It is about money, _ _ _ _ _ _. You fill in the blanks.

 

If it's only about money then why is Kimi half as motivated at Ferrari when he's being paid more than double what he was getting at McLaren?

Yes it does. An overpaid, non-team player. I think it's very low class for Kimi not to have visited. A phone call isn't good enough either, he should have been there at Massa's bedside in the hospital.

 

I'm basing it on how well he used to do at McLaren with an OK car vs at Ferrari with a really good car (2007-2008).

If you remember back to 2003 he came within a couple of points of winning the WDC (in a year-old car!). And in 2005 he was crushing the opposition when his car didn't break. But too many mechanical problems cost him the title. Remember Suzuka that year when he came from the back of the grid to take the win on the last lap? Awesome stuff!

Then he comes to Ferrari and barely squeaks out the title in 2007 and finishes behind Massa in 2008. No disrepesct to Massa but I feel Kimi has more natural talent than him or anyone else on the grid. He just doesn't seem to be applying it.

And that isn't meant to be a hate comment on Kimi. It's my own personal frustration because I've been a huge fan of his from day 1, when Max was spouting his BS about Kimi not deserving a superlicense. He proved his speed and just kept getting better each year. After Schumacher, he's my favorite driver but I don't get to see that same fire he used to have now that he's at Ferrari and I wish he would find a way to bring it back.

 

So Kimi is not a sanctimonious Americanized automaton? What a tremendous loss that is.
