348 crankshaft pulley nut

I want to loosen crankshaft pulley nut, but it's very tight and cannot loose.
Please tell me whitch direction I have to turn the crankshaft pulley nut?
counter-clockwise for loosen is OK?

It loosens counter clockwise. An air or electric impact wrench helps a lot if you have one, but don't overdo it. Good Luck.

the old, lefty-loosey. righty-tighty, holds true here. and if yoiu do not have a method to lock the flywheel, it will probably require an inmpact for removal. However be sure to correctly torque on assembly.

I bought new high-power impact wrench (up to 940Nm!!) and tried to loosen the bolt, but I can't loosen it.
Having found no solution, I'm in great difficulty...
Please tell me how to loosen the tight bolt.
Can I hammer or heat the bolt?

??? How about live and let live? If people want to put "x" amount of info. out there then that's what they should put out there. Whatever they're comfortable with. Where does respect come into it? But are you powering it with a little home compressor with low cfm? Did you oil your new gun makes a huge difference. Did you remember lefty loosey righty tighty?

It's not inconsiderate in my book. What’s inconsiderate is when someone like you takes the time to give an answer and there is no thank you or no follow-up letting you know if they tried what you said and if it worked.

The poster didn't ask any specific person the question and he did use the words please and thank you. Certainly wasn’t impolite. Sure, it would be dumb if they're asking if you think a 308, for example, will run cool enough in their climate and then they don't mention where they live either in their post of in their profile.

In the case of this person he provided all the information needed to answer the question. He could “tell you” who is. Doesn’t mean it would be true.

No one can dictate how much information another person should put on line. They can choose not to answer the person’s questions. There are different levels of comfort for what people want to share. There are also people from different countries on here that have different norms. In some places it is considered vulgar to speak about ones income or valuable property (like a listing of their eight Ferraris, for example). Other people want to list everything they own or have owned (and maybe throw in a photo of their “hot” girlfriend) to make sure all the world knows. Not saying that's the case here but you never know. Different strokes…..

 

Heat the bolt up with a propane torch. Sometimes people put locktite on them and you have to heat it up to break it loose. Heat it up for a little bit and then use the impact gun. Should work.

 

Ingersol Rand impact wrench, crank it up to 150lbs of air pressure on a 30 gallon tank and let her rip. It will come off.

 

It does...everytime, and no heat is ever needed.

If you are using an impact wrench make sure to also use an impact socket. The thin walls of a regular socket do not transfer the force properly, and to can actually break the standard socket if the gun is strong enough. To get the full effect of the impacts the gun is making, the thicker walls of a proper impact socket will work much better.

 

I heated the bolt up and suddenly used the impact wrench again and again, and finally I can loosen the bolt.
