    My prayers would be answered.

Alonso at Ferrari is a dream come true. For me as well as for the Scuderia and for Alonso.

And a nightmare for the #2 driver...

It will be a relief, considering how bad Kimi's performance has been.

    Oh come on, not again.

How will it look if next year the car is still a POS, and alonso can't do anything and him and #2 are fighting over 16th and 17th? Will alonso be demotivated, or is he not all what he seems?

I don't think next year's Ferrari will be another disaster:

    - They have learned their mistakes (KERS and no diffuser)
    - They will have Alonso after the season developing the car

It will be all good again. :)

Yep because having Alonso developing the Renault-kers has been such a success..

Alonso is definitely one of the better drivers in F1 but I still don't understand your unabated enthusiasm about him as a Ferrari savior. It is a fact that a rookie was his equal (and technically speaking beat him) at McLaren. And his response? Primadonnish pouting and finger pointing and finding fault with everything and everyone besides himself. Now if it was that "rookie" in question moving over to Ferrari with a couple years of experience -and a WDC- under his belt at a very young age, it would make much more sense to me.

hey now, lets not forget that the Renault's also have the same problems as the Red cars (and the other original non-diffuser/kers cars), thus playing catch up... that Renault is a bigger pos than the F cars, and yet he's been able to get 'something' out of it...

it will be great to finally have FA driving one of the red cars..

"that Renault is a bigger pos than the F cars"
-- how do you know? but according to you all alonso fans, that renault should have been a winner car since Alonso the wizard was develloping it this winter...

The diffuser was a fake issue, the red bull was better without kers and without double diffusor, so i guess Vettel and webber are the true developing gods...wait, maybe ingeneers and all the factory guys have something to do with a car performing or not !

"and yet he's been able to get 'something' out of it..."
    -- Any podiums? no
more points than the ferrari drivers? no

a pole? yes, with less than 10 laps of fuel onboard, wha a great performance.

More speculation..... how would Martin Whitmarsh know? Why not just wait until Monza, when Ferrari announce their driver line up for the next year.

Unless Kimi is on the move back to Mclaren, which i doubt.

Alonso to Ferrari. My vote for the worst kept secret since the Zimmerman note.

    On no.

That would probably be enough to make me cheer for another team and make him even more of a spoiled brat than he already is. His ego would be like the Goodyear blimp! No Hambone at Ferrari.

    In the same article:

"He (Whitmarsh) can say what he wants, there is no 'Fernando-Ferrari move'," said a spokesman for the Italian team.

"Things can happen and not happen. But you cannot talk about any Fernando-Ferrari move. We have two drivers with a contract until the end of 2010. We are not under pressure to change anything."

I'm more interested to see where Kubica could or would end up or whether HK keeps his drive at Mclaren or whether Rosberg gets his drive, or it could be Kubica.

I mean are we all assuming Massa will be ok to drive and Kimi goes rallying here.
