ok..this is weird. same car or not? different wheels and different price. http://carpoint.com.au/used-car/FERRARI/DINO/New%20South%20Wales/csn7478439.aspx http://carpoint.com.au/used-car/FERRARI/DINO/New%20South%20Wales/csn7546809.aspx
Consensus seems to be $120k for a run of the mill/dog, up to about $180k for a pearler (360CS probably not included) thats likely where they will be sitting in about 3 years or so. The 360 (although one of my fav Ferrari's) is a bit like the forgotten middle child, people love the 355, and the 430 will squash a 360 in performance, so it will likely be forgotten for a while until people eventually sit up and realise they have become a bargain. lets be serious, they are actually a bargain at today's money in the $180-200k range. you get allot of car for the $$$. I think there will be many people chasing these in the used market (for the next few years anyway) for the poiseur factor, someone will probably take a pretty big hit initially on them, but then in the used market i think they'll likely be quite bouyant.
It most certainly is! It only just beats the good deal on this 348 that is for sale. Image Unavailable, Please Login
good question. i put the dino wheels back on mine yesterday (thanks carl, couldn't have done it without you) and they still look great! I like both, but the 7.5" ones are more sought after. I can never tell the difference between the 14 and 16 though *sigh*
same car. The higher priced ad is from the FF of the north (he has been trying to sell it for >1year on behalf of a client) (check out the grammar in the ad -what a dumbass- all his ads read the same ie not as smart as a 5th grader) I've driven the car and its pretty neat (except for the ugly styling )but IMO still overpriced at $75k
i'd have said that too, until i started looking at replacing mine and worked out what they cost to get to this condition! if it's as good as the ad says, it's cheap actually.
Well, I guess you ARE the man in the know seeing as you did it with your GT4! But yes, it IS cheap because I am sure a lot more money was invested into it than what he is trying to sell it for. But we all know you dont recoupe much of that money back when it comes time to sell. So if its A LOT better than the rest out there (or is as good as the ad says it is), then it may be a $75K car. But until someone proves to me otherwise, I still say its a $50K car.
that particular car has invoices from the FF of the north for $29k (no engine out in that!!) so you might be right. Problem is with that type of car you'll probably never get your money back unlike say a glass 308 for not much more cash
Yeah, CS is a different kettle of fish and will always carry a significant premium over a standard 360. I think it's probably as collectible as a modern car can be. I also agree that the 360 may prove to be a bit of an orphan child over time. The 360 story is quite analogous to the 348's: The 348 was criticised for its on the limit handling and was not much faster than its much loved predecessor (the 328). It was subsequently eclipsed in handling and straight-line performance by its successor, the universally loved F355. Likewise, the 360 is/was criticised for its handling characteristics and was not much faster than its much loved predecessor (the F355). It was subsequently eclipsed in handling and straight-line performance by its successor, the universally loved F430. I suspect 360 prices will hit bottom when they're no longer seen as a modern/recent model. i.e. once they're about 15 years old. Even up to three years ago, I still associated F355s with being fairly modern/recent, but now the worm has turned and I definitely think of them as being a car from a by-gone era (like I do with 308, 328 and 348). Which is amazing if you think about it, because I can think of no other car introduced in 1994 that I still thought of as being relatively 'modern/recent' in 2006. Ferraris certainly inspire unique thoughts and emotions. I also see another pattern emerging out of the LdM era.... if it don't have an 'F' in its name... it will end up being unloved and eclipsed by its successor which will have an 'F' in its model name!
well that's not true. if you found a glass 308 in the same condition as this GT4 it would be nowhere near that price. $29k and no engine out? that's bloody frightening! i can't imagine what a car with 40,000km and no engine out could possibly need that would cost that much! anyway...is it over priced? If you definitely wanted a perfect GT4 like mine was, it's cheap. you'll just have to take my word for it. if you just want a GT4 and you're not too fussed about a bit of smoke blowing, a bit of rust, the occasional miss, a couple of holes in the carpet, a worn dash, hard to read instruments and a few bits and pieces electrically that don't work properly, then i'm sure $40-50k is fine
actually, if it hasn't had engine work, then it's overpriced. the way they wear the original rings/bores it'll be stuffed at 30 years of age...or close enough to it to be an issue for the next owner...all IMO of course.
I think its had the valves done, but no bottom end stuff. I think its worth $65k and I reckon 65-70k would probably buy it
