Five years ago these were going for $30K, now they are more than twice the price. This looks like a very nice example and agree about the manual transmission, but but $70K is alot money for a car costs a fortune to maintain, doesn't really deliver a driving experience that is anything special, has no racing pedigree, or is considered particularly notable or outstanding in any particular way. They made so few of these, maybe the current popularity of Aston Martins is pushing the pricing. For the same amount of money or less, a Jag E-type coupe is a much more desirable vehicle.

fair enough....appreciate the insight...I know it's limitations, just looking for something other than another F car--that may have working a/c...hot here most of the time...market today it might be acquired at a more reasonable price..

In the day it was faster than a 512BB.......it is also rarer in numbers.

That example is a wonderful color combo. I have seen 2 of these in person (green/green and red/tan) as well as driven both. They are a pig of a car in the low rpm range and at low speeds <70 KMH......IMHO. Heavy steering and just plain big. A British Camaro.

Not particularily breathtaking on the acceleration side or anything else, but really beautiful to look at, and cruise on the highway in.

I'd buy one for <$50K.....no more than that though.

The version that was faster than a 512BB was the Vantage which offered a hotter engine, stiffer suspension and different exterior and interior treatments. This is a V-8 which is the base car in the range and which is much less desirable. The following website discusses the various versions in depth.
