Well after watching Luca Badoer at this weekends GP, maybe we can now see why the F60 is not as good as it should be. I mean if Luca Badoer is test driver that is shaking down the new cars and giving feed back, maybe its time to find a new test driver. I for one would like to thank him for the last ten years, but maybe it i time for some new blood... Let just say I was dispointed in his speed, and the fack that Ferrari let him use this weekend as a test so blatantly is amazing when it is a RACE..

    Oh well...

Never spected to see him so...LOST.

Schumi was a great developer, Alonso is great developing...

We need new blood in the test dept.I like Badoer, nice guy, very loyal...but I guess after THIS, his days are counted as test driver...he´ll be driving the GT cars in no time.

AND WE NEED A YOUNG DRIVERS PROGRAME NOW

The young drivers program is all the F1 grid to ferrari, they just have to choose whoever they want.

    EXACTLY what I was thinking.

Not just slow, but a nonstop barrage of poor decisions. Pit speed x4, letting people past in the pit lane, let alone anywhere near the fricking apex

In the Schumie years Ferrari would do over 100,000km a year in testing. Badoer would do atleast half of that on his own.

Now the testing is limited to 15000km between 1st of Jan till 1st race weekend and has to be shared between all 4 of them(tho I'm reading conflicting reports when Badoer and Gene last tested).

He may of not actualy tested the F60 at all.

I certainly wouldn't blame Badoer for Ferrari's bad season.

Indeed. I find it so odd that a hugely successful team like Ferrari doesn't have a young drivers program, and smaller teams have great driver programs. Like Renault, Red Bull and Mclaren etc. All Ferrari seem to do is buy good/the best drivers from different teams and pay them an awful alot of money.

The only exception i can see is Massa who came from Sauber and was terrible, even in his first season at Ferrari. Then either him by his self or Ferrari devloped him into an almost championship winning driver.

Not only did we learn what a total POS the F60 is. We also learned what a joke the entire Ferrari team has become. Kimi was once again a hero for putting that spaghetti outfit on the podium. I suspect that after Massa's unfortunate exit from the series, Kimi is finally getting some sort of support from the team and it is starting to show. Not hoping anything bad for Massa but chances are (even likely) that he is done for good in F1. It'll be interesting to see Ferrari's mad scramble when they get hit with reality. Should be entertaining...

I have the same question. Gene to his credit has scored 5 times as many career points in 36 starts than BADodor. In his two previous starts at Spa he actually finished.

1999 Started 21st and finished 16th (Beating his BADodor teammate).
    2000 Started 20th and finished 14th.

Each time he was only one lap down in a Minardi. What gives! Why isn't he in the car?

Maybe Ferrari does not want anyone to see just how bad the F60 is. Now the sheep will just assume that it is due to the unaccomplished "never-was" Badoer. And Kimi's lack of motivation...

BADoer is ther because he has been a dedicated TIFOSI for 10 years...i do agree however his testing days should be over.....he has a real mental problem, and its his confidence...he is the one who mentioned confidence in the first place...he has been a key contributor in how ****ed up the F60 is.....then again,if a test driver was race-pace material he would have a seat...

Hey, guys, stop the press. It now seems like Badoer is the cause of all our problems. He did very few testing this year (if anything at all, I can´t remember) so don´t blame him for the bad car.

I think you're the one with the mental problem. He is a test driver, but having only driven the F60 'a' spec (I say A spec because when he drove it the KERS was in the nose, giving a very good weight distribution, car is totally different now). He isn't a key contributor because of this. If the car was allowed to drive in the 'A' spec by the mean FIA, it would have been winning and all would have praised badoer for his testing skills.

I'm not an admirer of Badoer's racing, but Ferrari have better things to do than to hire a POS developer as a test driver. THAT's why he's still on board. He can develop cars.

I really hadn't thought about that. I think it's a mistake to not allow some decent level of testing so at least each team has a competent third driver to take the seat of one of the race drivers, but perhaps Luca has lost his skill as a test driver too. Even with the different focus between a test driver and a race driver, I would have expected him to be more comfortable in the F60. He looked as comfortable out there as my dad in my 360.

Italians "relocate" witnesses all the time. Haven't you ever watched the Sopranos?

FOR THE MOST PART I AGREE WITH YOU..AND I DO REMEMBER WHEN THEY IDEAL KERS LAYOUT WAS DEEMED ILLEGAL BY THE FIA,,,BUT UNTIL LUCA CAN SCORE SOME DAMN POINTS HE CAN KISS MY *SS FOR LETTING MY PRANCING HORSE COME IN LAST....

You guys are funny. Have you suddenly forgotten about the 10s of thousands of test miles Badoer did with the F1 cars through ALL the MS winning years. Now he can't develop a car? Maybe the F60 is as bad as it is BECAUSE he had almost no input in the development!

Your joking right? One of the reasons Luca looked so lost is because of the in season testing band. The last time he drove the F60 was 10 months ago, and it was a completely different car. You should give the guy a chance, like i said, Valencia was just a test. By Spa, he should up his game, and not call his head after just one race.
