I'll leave aside any implications about my education. Suffice to say my final year college project was "The design and build of a wind tunnel for simple testing of low speed airfoils." My tutor initially freaked when he discovered I wanted to measure downforce rather than lift until I said I was a car guy, not a plane guy and wanted to (in part) study the effect of the ground on downforce. As in your example in grade school, you missed the major point of the assignment, maybe that is why he freaked. In real life you are given a task and you are suppose to complete it, not go off on a lark and play science project because you are a "car guy". I see as usual you missed the entire point that I presented to you just so you stand on a soap box and try to give a pointless speech. LOL
This show sounded like the real deal, but i think I can find more "insider" info on this site. I was disappointed.
I loved the show and I wouldn't mind if Steve could give us tours of other team headquarters, even if it includes a similar amount of commercial content.
Oh dear! You really are showing your ignorance now!.... Nowhere did the assignment (which wasn't "grade school" btw) say I should measure lift - He assumed it would, but in fact I got extra credit for "original thinking" and incorporating ground effects into some of my results. But as a troll I wouldn't expect you to understand that. [Or, indeed read, digest, and understand anything anyone says that contradicts your beliefs.] Please would you answer your own question: I said, and I stand behind, my original # - Zero! I also stand behind my "you're a troll" comment - You throw BS comments out and kill the thread when called on your BS - IIRC (and I apologize if these aren't yours) you claimed recently: - "Nascar cars would be thrown into the wall if touched by a finger." [The engineers here threw the BS flag and you killed the thread IIRC.] - "F1 guys can't test illegal configurations" - When presented with photographic evidence to the contrary you went on to kill that thread with inane comments undeserving of further comment. You are a troll, and I'm not going to feed you any further. Cheers, Ian
I'm sure you're not *that* busy Steve!..... Just noticed Jim got banned again - What did I miss this time? Hopefully nothing in this thread......
I felt it was really superficial. There is much more F1 substance in one of Matchett's short "RPM" spots than there was in that entire program. (An empty assembly area?) Still, if someone was a total Ferrari newbie there was a primer of sorts there.
More of the inner workings of Ferrari was shown in 5 mins of this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sRKL6hDng-Q Than was shown in that 30 min infomercial.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- What a waste. I was hoping for a great technical video tour similar the "Ultimate Factories" special on the 599. All we got was Steve staging shots in empty spaces, fluffy interviews, deserted tracks, and old footage of race stuff. An awful lot of puffery, and swooning over nothing...no real material. Time to revive... Where's the beef ? commercials. My guess is that Speed is as disappointed as I am. Lets only hope that Peter Windsor allows a real look inside his new team next year at USF1
LOL I was busy reading your impressive CV mate... Ermm Jim what can I say, ave lost count now.. errr I feel a GO HAMUTTON!! is in order..
For those who missed it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SupfjMhHt4E (part 1/3) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bGke5klUAxM (part 2/3) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lqzQOsHgJbk (part 3/3) I found this on Youtube. It's not mine. Not sure how long that'll be hosted as they usually get taken down pretty quickly.
