According to F1 Live, SV only has one engine left for the rest of this year. What happens when he presumably runs out of engines for the year? It's even tougher considering they are a customer team and rely on Renault for their engines.

A question I'm wondering too.... I presume they are just out. as in OUT. No
more races, no more points. See ya next year...

    Any other opinions on this?

I have a feeling that they will be swapping out a lot of engines in the next 6 races. They have 1 fresh engine and 5 that have time on them. More than likely they will use the used engines for practice and the fresh engine for the race. More than likely they will run the engines with a reduced peak RPM to get max life out of them.

Stupid rule IMO. He'll start to rack up grid penalties then. Real shame. I'm still rooting for him though.

    Intercepted radio transmission:

"Ok Sebastian - keep it under 90 MPH for 56 laps, and THEN
you can open up a bit- say 100 MPH or so - but for goodness sake,
stay out of the way of other drivers! Good luck Sebastian! We're
counting on you!! Just go EASY!!!"

So is it just extremely bad luck or is Vettel too hard on the car/engine? How many engine problems did Webber have so far?

I think its just a case of bad luck. Webber had none I believe, although both have had driveshaft failures a few times.

I think he'll use the 5 partly used engines and run them at 17000 rpm on friday and saturday for all races. At spa he'll use the same one running a 17800 peak.

Race on monza a new engine and keeping his fingers crossed.

and then at the end of they year contact mercedes and get some engines!

See how the FIA is slowly killing the sport? Vettel is a WDC challenger, and him starting witha 10 grid penalty might just be 1 race where it matters the most.

I really miss those days without all those bloody cost cutting bullsh!t.

    Yes, and some clear rules.
If the diffuser rule was actually clear, and the double deck diffuser wasn't allowed, there was little dirty air and we'd see some overtaking.

10 grid spots every race....that would ruin his Championship and would influence the FIA to allow more engines..That is going against the whole "cost-cutting" thing and will make another saga..i just hope they dont try and compensate for more engines allowed with lower quality building materials..we are the pinnacle here..boy i wish metallurgy was still allowed.

Too bad for SV but a rule is a rule. No-one else is in his position. Bad luck is part of the sport

Yep. And given the current run rate I'm sorry to say that Vettel's WDC hopes are totally f@&ked. I really want him to win.

Hah! I think you're right though, IIRC he has 30 points now, with 6 races to go. Button has 72.5 IIRC.
