Yeah tons of digging happening on the whole bund, to prepare for the world expo event next year, when its done, supposedly all cars will go underground and the whole bund is a walking zone. the telescope is pretty sick, it can see the people on rooftop of bund #3 and #5 building clearly. i have a bund suite so its probably only for the suites. After the F1 race weekend, I moved to Pudong side, stayed at the Park Hyatt @ IFC , currently record holder of highest hotel in Asia, its very nice too. right now i am at the park hyatt in Beijing, nice as well. I am liking what Hyatt is doing lately.
Hey guys, Im in Shanghai for 8 weeks for a summer program through college and I am missing going to car events that I often would go to back in the states. Are there any car meets or events in Shanghai? I'll be in town till the July 19, and would love to see some f-cars in shanghai let alone any other exotic. Please let me know. Thanks. nah, no car meets or events like in the USA. chinese ppl, particularly in mainland, are private, most of them aren't crazy about meeting up with complete strangers to socialize based on some common hobby, especially not strangers from internet. they are more into spending time eating drinking going to karaoke(the type you do more than just singing). if you want to see ferrari/exotics, just go to some of the hot-spot clubs, there are often few parked outside at night.
Thanks Mahwon, I went to a couple of bars and clubs last night and all I saw were some AMGs. Maybe I need to hit up some on the bund, got a feeling thats where they would be. Other than that, I am looking to go Lamborghini of Shanghai and the Radical dealership next to it. First time I heard Radical trackcars. Seems like they're bloody fast. Also, I will prob. visit the Shanghai International Grand Prix for some pictures. Let know if there are any other spots to check out. Thanks.
Hey everyone, just joined up on Fchat, must say that this thread has made me more attarcted and motivated to connect with other F-car owners here in China (Very few that might come up here I might add ... lol ) Good work Mahwon, and love those pics of places you visited, thanks for sharing. so ordered up a Nero Scud back in early June and they said production was lined up for mines to start this month, but guess what, they just called me today and told me I'm not getting it until late Dec and I'm like WHAT?!?!?!? has this happened to anyone else here or is it just me, or is it the CHINA delay ... anyways, nice to meet everyone here passionate about ultimate driving machines. Hey mahwon, so I'm in guangzhou and if you ever stop by, don't hesitate to hit me up for drinks and party, and we do actually have quite a few meets in shenzhen along with the bentleyians and Lambos all together, I guess they just don't come on this site that's all. I know there are alot of owners around, at least in Shanghai there are many Ferrari's, you are right they just don't come on the site, I am hoping to find enough of them to start a club and auto culture. I don't know the situation of your Guangzhou dealer, in Shanghai all the 2009 allocation was spoken for at beginning of the year, so it's unlikely to have an immediate production spot open, it might be a China delay, or possibly your dealer made an empty promise just to close your deal. Did you order the Scud or 16M Spider? Novitec does not have distributor in China, not sure about HK. Are you looking for something in particular? I can check for you in the States. Keep in touch.

I lived in queens and flushing for a bit when I first went, then moved to Cali bay area. So you settled in Shanghai yet? Yeah, if you can get that club thing going I'm in and I can gather half a dozen down here in the PRD area too, good to see someone doing something for the benefit of the whole. I don't think they tricked me cause I saw their 09 allocation and production schedule with my own eyes, I think they just might be shaddy and replaced my order with someone perhaps more connected with my spot for a later one, but I don't know, kinda brought me down a little. Yeah sorry guys, the name probably confused you a little, I wanted to get the 16M but didn't have a quota here at all so I just settled for the Scud and am looking to beef it up a little more with help of Novitec. Nice, it's big waves to catch now days Yep I am in NYC. I go to China few times a year and stay for a month each, while in the process of relocating. I bought a pad in Beijing in May, and in contract on a pad in Shanghai, I am looking to officially settle in Shanghai by end of the year. Novitec tuning is sick, I personally won't go forced induction on Ferrari's, but I definitely give them credit for what they are doing, most of their cosmetic mods are pretty tasteful too. The 1st thing I modify on a Ferrari is always the exhaust, on 360/F430 Capristo is the way to go, I am waiting to see what they will come up with.
What the **** is with all this rain? The 10-day forecast is indefinitely storms. I'm getting pretty sick of this. Is this normal for this time of the year in SH?
Usually its not like that, it happens when typhoon hit the coastal area. This time its Typhoon Morakot hitting Fujian and Zhejiang province, Shanghai is usually affected in such situation. I remember in Oct '07, the Monday after the F1 race (where Hamilton got stuck in gravel and DNP ), CRAZY storm hit Shanghai, you could not go out there on street, I just chilled at the Could 9 sky lounge at the Grand Hyatt hotel all day, it was AMAZING view to see the city in storm from 89 floor above. Now you can do that in Park Hyatt, it's even higher view at the 100 century avenue resataurant.

Actually, I just bought 05' gallardo e-gear on last week in CA and want to tunning twin turbo with 600WHP.....I just waiting for tuner send the detail of TT to me. if everything will be done then my gallardo will become to #1 GTT in asia.....I worry the fuel only in china now.wish the tuner can make me dream come ture!!!
Yes,I take the 06'BMW 650I from CA to china and registered already on July,2009...But seens not much cheap than used car that same year and model in china...
