Here are some shots from last nights weather delaying the shuttle launch.

the first two show the Xenon lights of launch pad A shining up... in the first shot lightening is striking just to the right... the 3rd and 4th shot are just a little further south about 30 minutes before launch....

tonight's scrub.... well, that's another story..... so I've included a shot of what it should look like when it does go.... hopefully Thurs night...

I had tickets to see the launch at NASA on their causeway from about 5-6 miles out back on Monday night / Tuesday morning. I was incredibly frustrated with the scrub. I skipped school Monday and drove back to Tampa after the scrub for 8AM class. I'm still behind classes, lol (med school).

Last pic is my favorite since I decreased the exposure so you can see the shuttle...zoom in.

I can't drive tonight to see it since the ticket can only be used by a NASA employee (my dad) who is up at the Goddard Spaceflight center now since he left town. :(

Edit: I went back on Aug 6th to Canaveral National Seashore and took some pics of Discovery from another view. I actually went out into the ocean with my DSLR held above my head to prevent water from getting on it! :D I uploaded that pic to wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Discovery_CanaveralNationalSeashore.jpg

I was there the week before, shuttle was on the pad waiting. Brilliant trip around Kennedy, just a shame we were not there long enough for the launch, mabey next year.
