    Just to give you an idea of what you may be getting yourself into,

    I purchased a 75 GT4 two years ago at auction for $49K.

    It now ows me close to $70K. Not that it was a rough car to start with but purchase price is just the beginning.

    An unexpected engine rebuild really hurts!

    plenty of cheap ones, but why bother? you will just get yourself into a financial quagmire. Buy a more expensive sorted car, you will come out ahead

    Gee, I wish I had a dollar for every time I have told someone that. Trouble is, it doesn't seem to matter. A Ferrari is NOT a car to bargain hunt on. Buy the very best you can find and if you can't afford the best, you really can't afford the model you are looking at.

    Your profile says you've got a 360 and a 430, so why the concern about a "cheap one"? In fact, why a GT4 at all ?

    And a 308 GTB is mechanically identical to a 308 GT4, so all the same issues as a GT4.

    If my memory serves me correctly you were after a 355, testarossa or 360 Carlos. The GT4 is a beautiful car. Many I am sure like me didn't like the Bertone design due to the sharp angles but it's grown on me and I really like them now.

    As many have said above great entry point and YES buy a good one. I'm a classic example of buying one that needs a "little" work.

    Ditto!! I really didn't like them when they first came out (no one did, really) In fact, not until I realised what a fantastic job they did creating so much room with so little space did i start to first appreciate the design, then the looks. I really miss it.
