Thought some of you involved in Architecture and/or subcontracting might be interested in how we are promoting bidding opportunities on our new hotel project in Indy. We set up a photo rendering gallery, construction progress shots, webcam and a tab for bid package info. Hope you all have a drink in the "High Velocity" lounge when you come to future races in town!

Is this your only form of bid notice or are you using "traditional" methods as well?

how is the quality of the bids obtained through this channel? i.e. are you getting bids from reputable contractors with the ability to get the job done, or mom & pop companies trying to score a big project?

This is in addition to the traditional methods. Mom and Pops are typically culled thru bonding requirements but we do actually target M and WBE firms with smaller packages that afford opportunities for growing firms and to feed the pipeline for the future subcontracting pool.

Since I also have a job in Pittsburgh, I have sent this link to many of our subs over in your area. We have a PLA in place here so feel free to send me some quality bidders!

I'll be downtown 9/11 for Moto GP. Homewood Suites. Doesn't look like it will be done by then. Your Gold Badge tip in May was a good one. Thanks. I can only stay for Friday/Saturday. Seeing anything beyond general admission?

Nice site by the way. I build small stuff compared to this.

    Looking good!

I tried to drum up some interest in my parent company to bid material on that, but I'd bet they never followed up. Too bad - they sure could have used the work & they have a huge facility just outside Indy over in Westfield...

My division was floor & roof trusses, but the parent company does everything from custom millwork to doors/wndows to pretty much you name it.
