wow is correct. The people next door paid 850k for their place and its on the market right now at 375 and it has been on the market for a while. Personally for 300+k I think they are steal. 3k SQft right on the intercostal. Beautiful clubhouse and pool. everything is upgraded and new and its in a good part of town.

To those that asked if my job was exciting. Yes and no. The times when its good and people are buying and I am able to flip in and out of cars very often and keep myself busy buying and selling and travling YES its very exciting but as we all know now is not one of those times. It is actually very boring these days and has left me with a ton of free time. Im just riding the wave like everyone else wishing that the big waves start rolling in soon!

View ARCHITECTURAL DIGEST magazine's "Design Driven" contest winner, for best existing garage. A unique feature of this particular garage is a ramp that raises the front end of his Maserati so that the car can roll out the garage so that it doesnt have to be started until the car is outside, thereby eliminating gas fumes from entiring the home:

That is the same concept that the guy in California did for his "garage" for his BB 512. Nice feature if you are that worried about fumes.

A few weeks back HGTV contacted me about a series they are currently filming showcasing the very best in North American design. The show is called 'Top Ten Garages' and a beautiful garage of one of my clients will be featured in an episode appearing this fall.

The garage was designed Peter Zimmerman Architects (http://www.pzarchitects.com/). The specific idea of this large complex consists of a car ‘barn’ with multiple display spaces, office space and a washing area, but it was also envisioned as an adaptive reuse of a historical structure. The clients desired the duality of practical function with the historical appearance.

The initial desire was to locate the structure as far from the main house as possible, however the site constraints required it to be relatively close to the main house, which required the structure to harmonize and complement the historical nature of the design approach to the main house.

The barn was design as a structure that grew over time; the main stone mass is dated to the late 18th century which ties into the period of the main mass of the main house. The secondary masses date to the mid to late 18th century.

The massing and additive nature of the forms and materials of the structure relate to the regional vernacular of the historical barn and agricultural structures in this region of the country. The barn was built using many locally sourced materials; the stone for the barn was collected from the excavation on the building site and from the 22-acre property.

If you would like to see more pictures of this particular garage and read more details about the design of each room, please visit my Facebook page at: http://www.facebook.com/vault.garage

I was in Las Vegas two weeks ago or so and saw a red/black Veyron as well as a Sang Noir at Lamborghini Las Vegas. Both were owned by the same guy, and he was trying to sell the red/black.

Small world though. It has to be the same two cars I saw in the showroom. Either that, or Vegas has two Sang Noirs...

Beautiful garage! Is this in Pennsylvania? I think I read an article in the newspaper a while back about it.

Is that the garage of a certain car dealer? I don't want to say any names without it being cleared, but I thought I saw it on Chasing Classic Cars

I thought that that garage barn had a Chester County, Pennsylvania look to it. I converted my circa 1850 bank barn into a garage.

Peter is a fantastic architect. He lives near me. He, Richard Buchanan and John Milner have similar styles really capture the "stone barn" look better than anyone.

I had to check this out because I thought that this exchange was kinda cool. From what I've been able to find, though, it didn't occur quite this way. Literature rocks.

Chris Altman of Stubbs Muldrow Herin Architects Inc. recently won a national design competition sponsored by Maserati and Architectural Digest. Here are some pics of the winning design that appeared this morning in the Post & Courier and a link to the story:
