LOL! That was actually pretty good ya bastard. I might actually be downtown every Thursday nights for class, not sure yet though. But I do plan on coming down sometime soon! Gotta grab a few pints mate!
we should make an even out of this ... all head downtown to College street and grab a few drinks .... although there aren't too many nice nights left Red 599 in Richmond Hill earlier today
Red Testarossa southbound on Mavis Rd at Dundas St in Mississauga. Beautiful. Black C63 AMG on Derry Rd in Mississauga Silver CL65 AMG on Queen St, oh wait, that was me in the silver CL!
Spotted a silver R8 bombing south down HWY50 this evening. Sounded impressive at WOT! And then two Nissan GTRs one red (Kennedy and Sheppard) and a silver one on the 407E I agree, Zak. Let's make something happen.
Had a great time at Mosport today as usual. Lot's of great cars, bad weather, great food and drinks. Big thanks to Zak for giving me live text updates! Kinda hard knowing what's happening after a few beers.
Nice! I was planning on going up there with a few friends, we got discouraged by the ugly weather and hungover from the night before lol.
How were the washrooms? Any improvments on the track? Did they repave the broken patches, and clear the dead raccoons? Theres a funny article in The Toronto Star wheels section about David Brabbham complaining that Mosport is "The most dangerous track when approaching high speeds" because there are tons of trees and very little runoff areas, and its very outdated....
True but another racer was also raving about how he loved Mosport and the "old School" feel and that it should stay that way. To each their own I guess. As for upgrades, I did notice there is actually toilet paper! Other than that I really do not mind. I really don't. It's a great venue! Image Unavailable, Please Login
Mr V did you notice if it's 2 ply or 4 ply? Korr seems to be thinking about that... Any side views of the 430 showing off the advertising Remo got? CH
LOL ....Did they actually turn on the water for the sinks too? I love poking fun at Mosport.....Yes, its an old school track with dangerous curves and fast corners. But it makes me laugh when people call it a "world class racing venue"....the track is in poor shape, there are absolutely no facilities or garages. The parking lot and pit deck are mud/gravel, and there are no washroom or food facilities aside from a french fry 'trailer' and a few rusty porto-lets. Its all good if you are sitting on the grass watching a race, but for drivers and crew people hospitality and convience factor is a zero. The only reason they race at Mosport is because Panoz owns the track, and part of the ALMS series.....I'm surprised they still race Canadian Superbike championship there considering someone gets killed or badly hurt there every year.
You serious? You mean killed overall or just in the bike race? Professional motor bike racing has always raved how NO ONE has ever been killed. Or is that only MOTO GP?
When I was there 3 years ago, some guy got very badly hurt as he flew across the grass and hit the concrete wall. The grass is not good enough to stop a car/bike, they need better sand trap areas. IIRC a rider got killed there last year at a historic race, but I'm pretty sure there are major injuries there every year during bike weekends because of the lack of run off areas. And thats not including the injuries sustained while using the restroom facilities....! LOLL
Ok, so you are talking overall. Yes there was an unfortunate death last year during the historics. Bike racing belive it or not has little to no deaths in MotoGP. When we hitting that patio by lake? Summer is almost done.
Generally, Motorcycle racing is safe.....IIRC the last MOTOGP death was 2006... Dajirio Katoh died when he hit the wall at Suzuka at 250 km/h. Patio anytime, maybe I have to pass by your office and make a personal appointment with you!
Thank You Mr V! I wonder if he had to give the door back after the race....maybe it was just a fender that got mauled. CH
Funny enough, I didnt know the car was in a mishap until Zak told me the next day via text. I was there from 6pm Saturday over to Sunday. My goal when I got to mosport on Sat was to get the meat finally on the old BBQ Mr. C It was good times as always @ Mosport. Can't believe it's been 10 years already.
