How many have traded up from 430 to 599???

Im in between that trade right now. I sold my 06' 430 Coupe 4 months ago and ordered a 2010' 599 HGTE which should arrive in October.

Since I bought a brand new car I'm obviously not taking advantage of potentially buying an 07' 599 at 250K that was 200K over sticker brand new. Im paying sticker and it's quite a bit more than I wanted to spend but I'm also getting a 599 that has 3 years of improvements over an 07' not to mention having the HGTE package from the get go rather than adding it on later.....It wasn't a financial decision to trade up as much as it was time for me to move on from my 430 which I bought new and put 27K miles on.

Believe me, I would have just kept the 430 till the 599 arrives, but I had a "bird in the hand" as they say and with the mileage on my car and the 430 replacement on it's way I figured I would strike while the gettin' was good.

 

u need both, its not a trade up or down. they are totally different rides.
handling : 430.
power : 599.

 

I agree with this. The purpose of the two cars isn't really the same. The 599's predecessor was 550/575M, and of course, the 430's predecessor was the 360, so they both come from different bloodlines.

 

It's probably just me but I would think that is a trade down.

I am very interested in a 599 - reading 599 reviews - the Scud seems to be the better partner in crime with the 612. It seems that people have a need to tweak the 599 where the Scud has it all right out of the box.

Having either one of these machines is a dream come true for me........I actually changed my tune about trading up.......Im trading Sideways.

If God be wiilin' and the creek don't rise I will have a MY2011 458 as a stable mate to the 599 in late 2010..........for now Im completely and utterly counting the minutes till I drive that friggin' beast for the first time.

As has been said by you and countless others, they are totally different cars with a different purpose and pedigree. If that weren't the case what fun would that be?

I did it; 2006 F430 Spider to 2008 599. Personally, I believe it was in every respect a trade up. YMMV.
