    That sounds like fun, Thanks

Since I'll be in Reno how about a trip to the Mustang Ranch ? That would persuade me LOL

I know Ron Tonkin in Portland, Oregon owns one, but he's not on FChat. But I'll see if I can convince him (or someone from his dealership) to bring his. I know at least one or two other Oregon guys must have F40s (does Paige Stevens still own one?)

I plan on driving down from Seattle. Tim and Kuzi - you should join me! We'll go down 101, meet any of the Portland-area F40 owners in Astoria, and then rip down the coast, through the Redwood Forest, and stay at the Carmel Valley Ranch.

Driving from Texas to Monterey in Aug in the F40 is not a great idea. I will have to truck it there as I wouldn't want to miss this historical gathering. Thanks for organizing....Eddie

tell you what, although you will pick an event like CI to host it, since the organizing started here, how about putting FerrariChat.com in the event name and besides the shirts I can also give you a subforum under Super Ferraris and/or web page if you want. Also have ability to give users a heads up through the newsletter and sending a PM to all F40 owners.

Rob, your offer is appreciated. Once we reach the point for consideration of sponsorship need, we can discuss.

Preliminary talks with potential venues will start in earnest this week and I will keep everyone in the loop.

Definitely in the conceptual phase at this point, so all of your ideas and thoughts are valued.

Jim, outstanding, that is really appreciated. While the specific intent is to gather as many USA spec F40's together as possible (with a goal to best the Silverstone total), I suspect the addition of race chassis cars would be welcomed without any dissent.

    Any naysayers :) ?

I think you are good to go on the F40 GT Jim !

I might be in on that.

If not, I'll just take mine and Mark's no problems, would be a fun road trip.

I have been following this thread for a while now and see the enthusiasm is there for a world class display of F40's.
Further, I can see no finer venue and partner than Concorso Italiano.
We the team at Concorso Italiano would like to began with you to study all the various aspects of putting together an extremely superb event including special guest, press releases, a display area with F40 hospitality and of course several pages in the program including a gatefold dedicated to F40 etc etc.
Trust me this can be pulled off and done very well. There is plenty of time to do it right,
and together we can make it happen. I will be in Italy from the 15th of Sept to mid Oct
and can easily tie up some loose ends with Pininfarina and others involved with the project.
I would enjoy doing this and also consider it a challenge.
I would be happy to talk with those of you who have inspired this idea in order to realize a grand event worthy of the car.
    Ciao,
