When I had my 360 I always dreaded taking my car into boardwalk ferrari for service. Always felt overcharged and had work done without consent, just a pat on the back "its a ferrari, it needed..."

So I get a nice ding in the f430 door, car goes to dealer. Dealer tells me its due for yearly service (car has 2.5k miles). The price, $2k. Have my secretary call around, including other ferrari dealers and seems the going rate is $700-1000. Call me cheap, but $1300 difference buys a few beers!

What do you guys pay for such service?

sounds like you should make friends at other dealers as long as they are reputable. 700-1300 sounds pretty low. make sure they are doing the same items.

What exactly do they do in the yearly service? $700 to $1000 still sounds high for a car with 2.5K miles on it.

I had an annual service done last year with all the warranty campaigns and it was around $1,000.00.

yeah you know, dealers are hurting right now so I would definitely check your bills or have them call you before you authorize service. I recently purchased a 360 spider out in CA. I had a PPI done at Auto Gallery. They charged me 1200. But it included a comp test so I did not say anything. I checked around and was quoted 550 to 650 at other places.

I also had a local BMW dealer try to charge me 1300 to install MAF sensors on my M5. I am willing to pay maybe double cause they have a rental and a nice waiting area with bottle water, but geese. I installed them myself for 350.

It seems like they have an attitude with you that you are the kind of guy that will not question his bill and pay. I would let them know you will be checking but in a subtle way so they dont drop a nut down your intake manifold. LOL!!!

I will say though, that I recently had a surprise visit to a service out at FoA. Kuddos to them. I needed a belt service. The seller did not have docs on the service except the clutch (we worked out a deal for the belt service). So i asked the service tech to go ahead and change the belt tensioner and bearings. Well I get a call back from the tech, and he said they looked brand new and advised not changing them until the next belt change. He felt confident too cause he said the belt looked new also. I was like wow. They just saved me 1K bucks. Kuddos again.

Buy them some beers and tell them to give you a break. :)

They could have this idea if your such a VIP that your secretary calls for pricing and setting up appointments. I'm not trying to be sarcastic or a wise guy so don't take my comment the wrong way...

Just had mine done, it was $1400 for all fluids changed. They also said just the oil yearly, all fluids every two years.

The problem is some dealers try to get you to do the 2 year service each year (all fluids & filters), which runs $1200-$1600 depending on the dealer, whereas the 12 month service is just engine oil and filer or around $500-$800. I have 1,200 miles on my Scud and my dealer tried to get me to take the 2yr service and I told him to follow the factory recommended service, saved me ~$1k.

I know some of you exclusively use the dealer for service, but what about a competient shop that specializes in Ferraris- it must be much cheaper than $500-800 for an oil change...

Oil, filter and brake flush every year. Other fluids every other. Owners manual also states A/C reciever drier every two years as well which make a significant difference in price.

It may be legend . . . but I prefer to build a service history with the dealer where I purchased the car. When the car is out of warranty I have always been treated very fairly by the dealer when things went wrong. Was this treatment related to the fact I always had my car serviced at the same dealer? I like to think so, but others may have had a different experience.

We have been rebuilding quite a few 360 transmissions for those who chose to follow that philosophy. The last one was at 35,000 miles. We have done them at lower mileage but always in cars that went by the 2 year oil change. Those transmissions run very hot and destroy the oil. We even have 360 and 430 owners that get the trans oil changed twice a year. Ferrari service schedules are often over time found to be wrong and knowledgeable shops adjust accordingly. The factory likewise changes the schedules from time to time.

Brian, are there tell-tale signs on a PPI as to whether or not the trans has suffered lack of oil
changes if it is working OK?

    That's ridiculous.

The 12K miles service on the 599 was 800 Euros (+/- $1100) in Italy.

Unfortunately being on East Coast it will sit this winter but I suspect I'll have 5K on her by my one yr anni :)

Just had my yearly F430 oil change service done at FoLI this past Friday = $442 (total w/ tax). It was the same exact cost in 2007 for the first oil change.

Last year for the 2 year service I'm pretty sure the total was $1400.

They've been straight up about the required servicing, never advised a service I didn't need.

I've had mine since new 8/05 and done 4 annuals at Ferrari of Denver.
The 1st and 3rd years were 400-500, the 2nd and 4th around 1000-1200. The 1200. included new a/c filter and air filters. I average 4K miles a year and it is a manual. I believe paddle cars may cost a little more but do not know for sure. There is no way it should cost 2K for fluid changes and inspections.
