?

So what should I do......?

  1. 18K gold.....cool watch, not gaudy like a Diamond President.

  2. Two tone.......cool watch, low key is better.

  3. Something else, Rolex's are for posers.......

Man, you MUST be kidding. Those are classic watch designs. A $25 Timex? Even if it is not your tasted, you have to know the difference between a Timex and Rolex.

i think most rolex watches are too flashy (hah--what a statement from the owner of a 430!). the only rolex i like is the yachtmaster, large size. it is very understated and fits my style.

With all these custom Rolexes, I can't wait to see when one gets sent in to Rolex for warranty work :)

Probably won't even make it past the local dist center before returned. Good news, its a Rolex and many others can fix.

+1 The SS/PT Yacht-Master is the anti-Rolex of all Rolexeses. As ubiquitous as the Rolex is, the YM is not one that is seen in the wild too often.

Like down escalators and jumbo shrimp, the YM exemplifies the oxymoron "understated bling". It's like one of those "...tuxedo t-shirts because it says I want to be formal, but I'm here to party!" (Cal Naughton, Jr.; ca. 2006)

It allows you to blend in with the other guys but lets you scratch that itch to be different, just like everybody else. Like photonut, the YM fits my style.

I got the 18k YM about five years ago as an inside joke (I had bought a 22' deck boat, so I was the ycht 'master'). Anyway, I like the 18k in the YM line, and the ss/gold in the SM line, but if you prefer the 18k SM go for it! I am not sure I fit in with a 599 crowd, I'm kind of an enigma that way.

The blue is different on the ones just released this year IIRC. On rolexforums there are a lot of threads showing the difference. The new one isn't as bright and the markers are larger.

    Wierd personality quirk, I guess.

I'll drive around in a bright red Ferrari with loud exhaust---no problem for me, screw you if you don't like it---but will not wear the most under-the-radar Rolex in existence.

If anyone's interested, $2,250.00 takes the watch. Not a distress sale, just never wear it. I'm going to put it up on FerrariAds in the near future.

Just get whichever ones appeals to you the most. The heck with what others think. There will never be a paucity of opinions and you will continue to hear from both sides.

Wow love that black daytona. I was going to recommend the 50th ann silver / green. But after seeing the black one I would like to see that in the flesh, price dependant of course.

I have two Rolex watches (not bragging).

I bought an 18K Presidential w/Diamond face 15 years ago.
When it had to be serviced (two week turnaround, I felt naked), I bought an 14K Blue Face Submariner.

I wear the Presidential watch on weekends.
    The Submariner during the week.

Last watches you'll ever buy; they'll last you a lifetime. I you ever own two, get an autowinder.

Don't worry what others say or think. It's your life, live it.

I have both a two tone and a basic S/S one with no date. I can say that the stainless is good for when you don't really feel like showing off. I feel it is more of an everyday watch and that is the one I wear most days.

The two-tone, on the other hand, I feel is more for special occasions. I usually wear that when going out to dinner or some other occasion. This one definitely gets a lot more looks and compliments than the other one.

If I had to have just one, I would pick the two tone. That blue face is just beautiful, and I love how it shines in the light.

I concur. I think it looks too hard like it's trying to look expensive.

Good idea on the woman thread. The car and watch I can actually figure out for myself.

    Have to admit that's sharp.

Your idle is too high (photo).
