In one picture of a wheel a few posts back, it appears as though someone exhumed a wheel from the early 90s, made it bigger and then cut some slots into the trailing angle. Some call them "boat anchors" but it's just a 348 look alike................ But the car is gorgeous !! Cheers, Hank
Those are the best views I've seen yet. http://www.autoblog.it/galleria/ferr...-da-maranello/ The front & rear 3/4 shots are absolutely stunning and have me drooling. The rest of the pics are less than inspiring. Aesthetically, I think the front splitter is hideous and the look of those rear air scoops/intakes completely disrupt the flowing lines of the pillars & rear glass - the entire rear end is much too busy & congested. Very strange...it's both beautifully flowing and aggressively angular yet neither of the concepts seems to work here. In my eyes it's not an elegant machine. Those things being said, the 458 is clearly Ferrari's ultimate exercise in "form follows function" in a road car. I think the reviewers are going to be blown away by the grip & stability at speed when they get their hands on it. The entire car just screams purposeful aero. I for one can't wait to see the Michelotto version hit the track - it'll be a 911 killer. Time for the boys in Stuttgart to finally develop the mid-engine Cayman platform!

I love it! Just noticed that nice crease running up the center of the hood. Really nice the way the the lines of the hood intakes, hood crease and lower wings converge into an imaginary center point. I suspect many opinions will be changed once it's seen in the flesh.
Those latest pics on the road....very enlightening. That crease in the middle of the hood and other details come alive and give the car more character. It's going to look amazing in person in some metallic colors instead of hide-the-details red and yellow.
First came the studio pics and everyone loved them (ok, the fake ultra-low ride height and wider tracks JUST NOT FAIR), then came some more shots outside the factory, some with camo, and everyone seemed to focus on the weaker details and started bashing it. Now some fresh real life pics and everyone is back loving the 458. Honestly, we are looking at the same car from minute zero, no photo tricks except for the ride height issue, those sudden changes of mind should better be checked!!! I'm pretty sure it will be remembered as one of Ferrari's greatest designs. BTW, I was so amazed at Ferrari using an already known wheel for an all-new car. Now, there's the new, possibly standard wheel, maybe an inch smaller than the 16M, which hopefully will be available as an option?
Just keeps getting better and better. The headlights are pure evil, and that look wouldn't have worked nearly as well w/o the scowl. Lots of subtle details...very nice. It's nice to see something come along from Ferrari that is so good that we can forget about the California.
I am totally nuts about this car. I wasn't even close as excited when took delivery of 599 or even my beloved Scuderia. This 458 gives me heart palpitations,I am completely confused what color I want.It looks magnificent in all the colors I've seen(photoshops mostly).
In my opinion i haven't seen such an ugly car like this. Especially the front part is like......... i don't know like what!!
The seats look like they belong in the luxury version of the Toyota Camry. The dash vents look tacked on. The front headlight and the clipped hood ends look bad. The rear fenders look like they've been folded over the rear engine cover. I think the car looks great overall though. Nice job Ferrari.
Bianco Fuji with nero roof--gunmetal wheels..or entire car in triple black with gunmetal wheels! WICKED! nudge nudge, wink wink
That's a good point here, the number plate will be hideous. For the car, I'm sure it looks amazing in real.
So you don't put a license plate on, if the police stops you, you simply ask him "Come on look at her, would you put a license plate on this beauty"
sorry but this is more uglier than california .... The hood seems that it is not properly closed or unfitted.. i dont know why they are reducing the width of head lights ... is headlights width is even shorter than 599 .... The front bumper is pure ugly ...and that prancing horse logo on the front is hideous .... Back could be a lot better if they put rear lights in the middle ..and that gallardoish black grills ( dont know what it is called ) is disgusting ... BUT that could stop me from saying that its front 3/4 th profile and side profile is just awesome ..thumbsup from me .... and it is the best performer........
