There's a similar one for sale in the states (where I got the pics from anyways).

Fell in love with it first time, if I ever buy a yacht it'll be the same colour combo.

Aside from the obvious, are any of the boats in the thread personally owned by members of this site?

Gorgeous boats here, makes me want to go out on the water and enjoy myself.

Stupid. How can somebody with so much importance have that much free time to use some monstrosity like that... Beautiful, but REALLY?

It's like setting the world's largest diamond ring just because.

If I had the cash I probably wouldn't buy anything bigger than 50m. Put it in the Caribbean and drive it to a different island every time i'm on it. I prefer the Indian ocean even more but its way to far to fly from europe & USA. I wouldn't want any staff on it apart from 2/3 cleaners.

    Interesting: http://www.autoblog.com/2009/09/03/a-little-bigger-than-a-cayenne-porsche-designs-135-foot-catama/

snippet: "...the RFF135 is a massive twin-hull design measuring 135 feet in length (hence the name) with a 41-foot beam. That's enough space to accommodate 10 guests and 10 crew members below decks in 472 square meters of area, with another 208 square meters of deck space up top. That's almost unfathomably large, and to propel the vessel up 35 knots (about 40 mph), the catamaran will be equipped with twin V16 turbodiesel engines from German manufacturer MTU, each producing a massive 4,600 horsepower..."

Which one? There are 4 different boats. One is The Princess Mariana and it is owned by the wealthiest Mexican (Calros Peralta, Mexican telecom guy) and is at 252 ft. Paul Allen (Cofounder of Microsoft) ownes Octopus which is at 416ft.

Many of these boats are constantly travelling the world. Friends, business associates, etc are on these boats. The owners fly in when they want and aren't concerned about cost effeciency. These boats are about having every ammenety imagineable. Most of the big ones have movies theatres, some have concert halls as in the case of Octopus and a couple of others, plenty of bars, etc.

It is a much different lifestyle than most can imagine. The upkeep on these things is insane and they employ a lot of people all year long.

price came down. I have a magazine from about 2 months ago where it is $125MM Euros. Not sure what exchange rate was at time. That link shows $98MM Euros. I wonder what true cost of yacht is as many of these guys build them then they are immediately for sale at exhorbant prices for the person that just can't wait. Then they just commission their next one or already have.
