Engine #1003.050 was owned by someone in Germany. I brokered the original engine of this car 3 years ago to a new owner in Germany. Ciao! Walter
Many years ago the flywheel went off damaging the bellhouse seriously. It could not repaired in those days. Today thats not a problem anymore - and it was done perfectly. Ciao! Walter
Here comes a photo of the refurbished engine block. Marked and clearly visible is the bellhouse that was repaired. This was done by the factory that designed the Phaeton-engine for VW and the engine-block for the Bugatti Veyron. Ciao! Walter Image Unavailable, Please Login
Looks to be a very well executed repair! Now, how do we reunite the original car with the original engine??? Thanks again Herr B. Ciao! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
And Herr B. answers: Not possible anymore! The engine will transfered into another 5000 GT that is currently under restoration. Ciao! Walter
I believe that engine 050 was sold to hermann postert as a spare engine by the current owner of 050.. Nik
Yes (...and this was a very stupid decision of the owner of #050!), and Mr. Postert sold it on via my help 2 years ago. Ciao! Walter
