Agreed. However, I think in the near term, the points being made earlier in this thread and in the article written by Michael Sheehan which I quoted are correct: the car is a well-used, stories car, and its value will suffer because of that. In the long term, the sky is the limit for this vehicle. But there's no shortage of Enzos on the market right now (or in the near future), so this car will (or, should) be priced lower than others for some time.

    Wow,

Im glad Ferrari doesn't take the majority of peoples advice in this thread becuase then why would they ever sell replacment parts you know parts that are damaged in accidents??

because god forbid anyone ever fixed the car haha

I certainly do not think that the car is worth the same as one with no issues but damn.

You assumed wrong... That's a different car, repaired and sold several years ago.

Once again correct me if I'm wrong but I don't see why a wrecked enzo is a really big deal- if they replace the tub (I believe its a carbon fiber tub) and body work w/ factory pieces you would essentially. I believe they sold large portion of Napolis' enxo after removing the bodywork to make it the P 4/5- I would rather have a complete replacement w/ intact parts than somebody trying to cobble even on panel back together

Ah, NO. There is more to this than just some simple, bolt-on body panels. The fact of the matter is, the Enzo is a highly-complex car constructed with some of the most-advanced materials available. You do not take a vehicle like this to 'Joes Body Shop', grab a parts book, and have-at-it - then expect the rest of us to believe that the car is 'perfect' when it emerges. It won't be, but the shop's perception is that it will (they of-course filled with the hubris of their skill level), and the next owner should pay TOP DOLLAR for the car after everyone on planet earth watched this car slam into a concrete wall on Youtube.

The only people capable of making a car like this 'perfect' (and we mean $1.2 MILLION DOLLARS PERFECT, not Maaco-looks-good-from-ten-feet-away perfect) are the folks who built it in the first place - FERRARI. End of Discussion. An intelligent person would have sent this car back to Maranello and had the Factory repair it - which the Factory would have done, and done it 'perfectly', if given the chance. Now you have a situation where real-world market reality is going to clash with Body-Shop hubris, and somebody WILL get screwed with this car. Only time will tell who the rape-victim will be.

No that is not what I meant. Imeant sending back it to the factory to be retubbed/rebodied etc. Nobody seems to have any issues w/ retubbed Ferrari F1 cars- done so because there current (wealthy) owners long ago lost their F1 Piloti physique. My guess as to the 1.2 mill repair bill seems quite high- because only a few years ago Enzos stickered at $650 ish- and they were built as a for profit venture which would imply that the sum of the parts and repairs would not equal or get close to $1.2- the value of the serial # is another story- if correct repairs actually approached that figure- then anyone in their right mind would take the insurance check- buy a correct one and then take any remaining parts from the original- that the insurance company did not lay claim to) and have them melted down into a very interesting conversation piece

Well I hope the best for the car and the next owner.
Maybe the next owner will have other plans for the car?

I do not believe so, although it could be, due to the fact its in TX and seems to have some poor body lines in the front end.

I remember seeing Matt (the guy who repaired it) go into detail as to the whole process and cost. Parts were sourced from Ferrari themselves in every instance and IIRC the total bill (his cost) for repair was around 100K.

I saw many, many photos of in process and after the repair, and he was selling it for originally around 1M, then 1.2M million at a time when most comparable Enzo's were selling for 1.4M. Based on what I saw, I would still buy this Enzo. And for 200K less? seem like an "ok" deal to me.

He is a forum member, I wish I remembered his screen name so you could direct your questions there.

    Best,
    Matt

Actually Ferrari did not make the tub nor most of the body panels, a company named ATR manufactured the tub for Ferrari. Additionally, in the world of composites the enzo tub is very basic and simple. Not exotic epoxies, cores, manufacturing methods or materials used..

In the case of the Griffin crash Enzo aside from some body work the only "major" issue was damage to the front sub frame which is made to take the abuse and transfer very little load to the tub.

You are correct. I had to go back and look through my photos to find the VIN.

I took these photos a few months ago.
