I don't know why he's smiling, he should be asking himself what he's going to do next year when he no longer has a drive.
He is retiring at the end of the season to begin with so he is going out with a bang. It is rumored that he will be joining or replacing BADODER as a test driver for 2010.
It was announced by Ferrari that he would be the test driver (for what that's worth with no testing, so best described as reserve driver). Ferrari is talking about a young driver program much like McLaren has and IMO Fisi would be a natural to se streamlined into that program. I really think he has a great future ahead with Ferrari in many facets. Carol
He's just shown that he's still good enough to compete at the front in F1, so there's no need for him to 'retire' to a lesser role just yet. He could become a reserve driver and coach/mentor a few years down the line when he is no longer competitive. If getting a drive for Ferrari in five races effectively takes him out of F1 I think he'll probably regret doing it.
He's going to be test & reserve driver, but I have also seen quotes from him Domenicalli saying that he is free to race in F1 if he wants. I would guess that if he does get an F1 drive it'll be with a Ferrari-engined team.
