Just keeping cutting weight and one day you'll wake up and be like 'whoa'. That's the funny thing about progress... while it's not linear, you're making progress on a daily basis, but it's not until maybe once every 3 or so months that you look at yourself in the mirror and actually see some change. It's the best feeling in the world. Keep it up, you have a good frame.

haha, well... a little bit of a funny story. A good friend of mine was a gymnast, and made the suggestion that I try it. I told him "I haven't done a hand stand since I was 13 maybe... " So he suggested I do it, and he'll catch my feet. I did two there. A few days later, I was looking for a place at home... and was pretty nervous about falling. Well I did it, and I still don't have the confidence to go all the way down but I can balance with minimal assistance against a wall OK now.

    Tiger push ups
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XJjA9zdzgZ0
Toughest on the fingers... often I cheat and just have my hands flat. I could do 3 6 months ago... I can knock out 20+ if I want (the cheater way)

Deep push up is where I am propped up, and rather than stop with my chest hitting the ground, I go as low as I can before returning up... I used to do this by propping up 3 chairs, but since I picked up an "Iron Gym Extreme" (pull up bar for a door way), it feels the same without using the chairs. It works the inner chest even more I think.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wboN9n-2-TY similar to this... but without the pauses.

I'm also (in an unmeasured way, and not "officially" part of my workout) often doing leg lifts (with my toes as perpendicular to my body as I can manage) and do pull ups/ chin ups while holding that position... pretty tough!)

The protein I'm using seems to be the one with the least amount of additives that is rebranded from this
    http://tinyurl.com/mg94bv

So many of the protein supplements seem to be advertising that they do more than some other protein product; and being that these companies don't really have to do any FDA trials, I'm leary about taking it.

If you want good protein, go to www.trueprotein.com/ and create your own blend.

And holy crap those tiger push-ups are funny.

yeah, thats exactly what it is like... I was starting to get a little depressed (in a minor way) over the lack of progress, than wham, visually there is another change :)

Interesting, and a great price! The Tiger pushups are funny, but effective.

Just mowed the lawn "aggressively" in the 90F 95% humidity weather, and even after drinking a 32 oz drink, and some humace/ chips, and a carrot, I'm temporarily down to 227.7 lbs! (yeah, just need to re-hydrate) Still pretty neat seeing that!

I stopped drinking in June I think. Having 2 or 3 beers during the weekend was totally ruining my progress for a while. I love the taste of a good beer, so I've put of drinking any until 1.) the Tigers make the play offs (in moderation) and NYE... when I can start anew again.

Diet mostly consists of chicken/turkey/ sometimes hamburger sandwiches/ cold cuts. Whole grain/ whole wheat breads, plenty of carrots and bananas, plenty of milk, and OJ. Sometimes a salad. Not a perfect diet by any means, but it's been working. Cheats on it include chocolate milk (exclusively get non- HFCS), multi-grain chips with humace, or some ice cream once in a long while.

I've tried to entirely eliminate products with HFCS since the end of June. Not quite 100%, but I'd say about 95+.

I'll have to give those tiger push ups a try.

Good job on the leg lifts. Did some yesterday and abs are a bit sore today.

    Continued success.

Okay Im finally feeling comfortable enough to start posting in here.

here is a pic from March 2009 and a pic from today. About 5 months, though throughout July i didnt workout at all and ate terribly..I was in a huge deadline crunch and everything fell to the wayside. i started back up last week.

I had also been having terrible tendinitis in my left wrist but that seems to have subsided as lng as I ice it for 20 minutes before working out.

Start weight was around 300 lbs. Current weight is 258 ( I was thinner in late June..down to 250).

I want to lose fat but the priority is to build muscle.

    Thanks !

Wish I could say I can but I dont think so...not yet. I havent attempted a max weight bench press but currently Im pyramiding up to 165lbs for 8-10 reps. Im a little concerned about taxing my wrist with too much weight.

All the males on both sides of my family were very large muscular guys so I think I have the genetics for it....if I stop eating donuts ;)

Meh.. no need to force it. I tried going 90%+ on my lifts last month and I absolutely destroyed my left shoulder. Haven't seen a doctor yet, but I can't raise my arm above parallel and it totally sucks because no shoulder means no chest/back/shoulder/arms workout. I've just been squatting the past couple of weeks. Blows. Max lifts are 100% overrated.

I think I'm off my game again. Last time I came back from " up North" I got into gear. I think I'll do it again this time.

My scale broke, so I'm unsure of my progress, but I've still got that good fitness level. It was amazing, and somewhat unexpected, but after 14 years, I managed to get up water skiing :) Tried with one ski, and that lasted about 60 meters. Hopefully I'll have another chance to get up there before Summer is gone.

Nice work. I've tried waterskiing 4 or 5 times and I've never managed to get up, but I'm also scared to death of water/drowning so that might be affecting me subconsciously.

My progress? My shoulder is still messed up and I haven't done a chest/shoulder exercise in almost 8 weeks. I've also been eating a lot less and I'm down to 174ish (the lightest I've been in almost 4 years). Kind of discouraging.
