Funny. A friend of mine has the 360 coupe and he said the same thing.

Where would those be? Maybe they only came on the coupe and since mine is a spider it is left blank....

My pdf owners manual says "33 Rear fog-light button". On the Volvo I had years ago, flipping that switch caused the brake light on one side to stay on all the time.

Correct question. Only the euros have the 4th switch and it runs rear fogs. JJ has a US car so there isn't a switch.

US cars never had 4 switches as far as I know. Is the 8th character of your VIN an A or B?

Keep in mind some "A" vined cars from the middle east (Dubai)? have "A" vins and rear fogs.

It's an A, it's a US car; have all the docs back to the new purchase in 2001. There are no rear fogs on the car, but the dummy switch does have that electrical plug connecting to it as shown in the pics. Do you think it may have anything to do with it being an early US 2001 car?

Hey Maury, while you have the dash off why don't you look and see where the antenna is routed. Maybe you can route it differently, like the alarm antenna, and get decent reception on the radio. Yea I don't really use it either but since the dash is off it may be an easy task.

My friend's coupe has the 4th switch and is a US car.

Looking through owner's manuals for the various years, in 2000 they list the button as rear fog lights, but in 2001 they do not list the button. The rear fog light appears to be the inboard red tail lights according to the 2000 manual

For my next trick, I am going to open the hood. Next week I will tackle unscrewing the oil cap and that will conclude this season of Raptorduck's Garage. Yea fear and a little incompetence goes a long way and I take that to new levels. I freaked out when I installed my carbon fiber air boxes on my 360. It took me 10 times as long as the manufacturer said it would and he was probably being conservative.

I can wrench motorcycles pretty good (but not great), but my idea of wrenching a car, let alone a Ferrari, is putting air in the tires and I freak out doing that, using two different gauges (which never agree BTW). So this feat is nothing short of heroic superhuman genius to me. I once watched a german take apart my dash on my CLK55, install a command system, and put it all back together in 1.5 hours. It was like watching a master artist at work, truly artful and something I can never dream of doing. I am the gearhead's verson of an imbecile, who looks up to gearhead morons.

Mwaha! Nope; I think the yellow tach face is enough yellow for me. ;)

And as for when it will be back together, it won't be for a while. I called the interior guy Tuesday, told him finally had the dash out and THEN he tells me he can't do it for a month. Great, just freaking great. So, the paint man can take his time while we wait on the upholstery shop. I'll of course get pics up as things develop, but don't expect it to be fast now. And sorry for the delays in posting; few up to New York Thursday and Cajun-boy has been running around the big city ;)

Man, I am missing driving this car! A Chevy Silverado just doesn't cut it like a Ferrari 360 spider. ;) Went by the body shop today. They almost have all the prep work done, so the hard parts are over. Many of the rock chips (including the one smack in the middle of the hood) were fairly deep requiring a good bit of refinishing to make right. As you can tell, the whole front end is going to be re-cleared. It should look as good (if not better) than new real soon.

    Maury,
That just makes me cry! I'm glad its going to look good but it seems sad to see the car, well, wounded!

Put a clear bra on it when the paint is cured! I bet on giallo modena it will not be very visible at all, provided you use something like Venture. It cost me $700 to get the entire front end, 3/4 of the hood and fender, and side skirts done but I feel so much better about the paint underneath!
