yes, owner is a guy named Leo. GREAT GUY that does GREAT work and REALLY REALLY knows his stuff and actually bring some of my work to him however the only issue is he's impossible to get in touch with although is making an effort to not be so bad. Also because everyone stops by he works from around 2pm till 3-4-5am every night.
Thanks James. I have heard that Leo knows the 348 inside out. I am still 2 years away from a major but am doing my homework now.
Well I have to say, with all the sad ones in this thread I had to relay my latest pleasant Ferrari service experience. Gran Turismo in Alliston Ontario is AWESOME. He came recommended to me by other Fchatters and FCA members and I have to say i was not disappointed. We were off to a good start when he made the effort to drive down to the city to have a look at the 84 308QV that I had. Right from the beginning the vibes were good. We had a very frank discussion about timing and costs and what my expectations were and I have to say.....the only thing that was exceeded were my expectations. Bravo Brett and John......Thanks!!!! Pics to follow here. http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=257957
I have to agree with you that I heard your car at the track that sounds GREAT .. I also have my Pcar 996C4 at their shop today to do the track -inspection , replace the brake-pad and replace the OEM cats with the sport-cats; I will pick up the car tomorrow .. can't wait ... Moreover, I also chatted to Massimo and Marcus who will look after my F430 as well
Those guys are incredible are they not? Massimo is always keeping up to date on the new Ferraris. I love it when he shows me some of the stuff on your 430 that are his designs or ideas.
New here! I just purchused a 430 and needed it look at a freind of mine recomened me to see Tony. Met with him today and went over the car he seems to know what he is talking about and very educated.
you need the SD3 to work on a F430. i don't think Tony has any sofware or working experiance to work on the newer models.
every once in a while you run into someone who will be a very nice person, knowledgeable, trustworthy and capable. Most of the time, you find people who are full of s@#$. Well our friend here is someone who leads you on with a smile on his face and as much knowledge on how to screw you as how to fix your car. Sooner or later you will get screwed HARD! he is every ferrari owners worst nightmare. Do your research and you'll find the right mech. People have had this guy in court for his theivery and a few more are contemplating. The waterpump change is one of his many favourite scams.Don't worry, he'll try you out with prices before he's got your engine out to read the expressions, then in clicheic fashion, once your engine is out the trap is set and complete as he gives you a miriad of so called "problems" you are having. And yes, that probably is a false post you are inquiring about. Take care and avoid the 407/27 corridor for service.
Tony knows nothing about the F430. The only time he gets close to one is when he visits Lapaloma for an icecream.
I wasn't aware that these cars were so technical any suggestions or should i just take it to Ferrari of Onatrio.
read this thread , there are many good suggestions. Steve at forza is good. Foo has too many apprentices in my opinion there is not good value on the dollar there. whatever you do don't breakdown anywhere near 407 and 27
Daytona it your best option for many reasons and if you read back in this thread you will see why. Not only that but Daytona has Massimo who had a hand in designing the F430. He knows that car like the back of his hand and yes they have the SD3.
Does Daytona have all the diagnostics equipment to service all late model Ferrari's ? ie, 599 ?? is it the SD3 that reads all the newer models??
Yes Daytona has the latest software revision! Can Diagnose 599/612 !! Cleared some codes on a friends 599 without visiting the stealer
He helped clear a code for us on a clients Scuderia yesterday, otherwise would have had to make an appointment to make an appointment at the dealer. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
He worked on my 348TS many times....he does know his Ferrari's very well, but trying to get a hold of him is another issue,he's packed with cars, always busy..but he's not expensive..
this week started to take my car apart. I take back everything good that I said about TONY GAROFALLO and MODENA SPORTS CARS after talking to some guys and showing them my invoices ... I'm embarrassed. I really trusted this guy to do the right thing. I will post my invoices for all to see But as a sample how about 20 wheel bolts for $1500.00 for the set, $5200+ for each side of STOCK headers $3800.00 for a water pump? etc,etc... This has got to be fraudulent. Is there any recourse for people like this?? $43,000.00 for a major and new exhaust, shocks and wheel nuts?. I have 1800kms on the car and it looks like I've lost a exhaust valve. This guy has got to be stopped.
$43000??????!??!?!?!?!? you've got to be kidding me! has he actually done the work or is that his estimate???? must be making up for lost business...if he hasn't have a flatbed and pick the car up and take it to someone else who won't take advantage of the ****ty position you've now been forced into... Sorry to hear, if theres anything I can do please call me at 416-841-8196 i'm usually at the hospital all day but try to check voicemails as much as I can get away with before the nurses start on me. Thanks James Simpson
Oh Gee look! Thats an SD3 Massimo is holding. Ask Tony if he has even seen one of these before. Tony has an SD2 but does not know how to use it. BTW great pics of a doctor at work on a Scud. When people like myself say that this guy is great, we are not exagerating one bit. He is an amazing man with these cars. The one thing I like about the 430 is the Enzo type tail lights....Guess whos Idea that was in the 430 development stage? Yep....Massimo. And that was just cosmetic. Then theres the rest.
We told you but some just dont listen. Some of this has to be your fault. Anybody who has a Ferrari can tell you that wheel bolts are not $1500. Same goes for your water pump. You have to do your homework my friend. Do yourself a favour and drop by Daytona and talk to them about any problems you might still have with your car. Advise there is free. As for Tony....If you were told one thing and then he charged you much more then take him to court....What the hell everyone else is. Massimo is not the only guy at Daytona that knows his stuff. Marcus is a specialist with the 355. Like I said before, he could rebuild a 355 with his eyes closed. I think Tony does the same thing except like i said Marcus knows what hes doing. Now back to you getting ripped off. The Ferrari community is tight and if you want to know what is going on you start by going to the some of the drives we go on now and then. You can even get out to MontTremblant and meet some people. But you definitely have to get out to the Ferrari track days a Mosport orgnanized by Doc Evan. You can drop by Daytona and get to know the guys or you can even go by Rocks auto and meet a really knowledgable man. The one common thing everyone in the loop seems to ask and I have asked it for the last year is, Who in their right mind would take their car to Tony? The answer that everyone comes up with is that there are still many F-car owners that just dont know or they are not in the loop. In other words they do not do their homework. The other answer that quickly follows this one is that Tony is a smooth talker.
