Super Saturday! Two Great Local Events Sep 19

    Okay, so it's not quite a Monster Truck event but the name fits.

    Last year, we did three events in one day. Some sort of FoW open house, Autoy's Oktoberfest and Kevin McGovern's Lotus BBQ.

    The best part is that we did a big caravan to all three. As I recall, it was an amazing day.

    This year, we only have two events (that I know of)...but we should still plan on a caravan.

    Let's plan on meeting at 11:30 am, Sep 19th in the Timpano-Rockville parking lot.

    From here, we'll drive over to Autoy's Oktoberfest party. Last year, they had about 50 cars with food, live music, etc.

    We'll stay there until 2pm, then head over to Kevin McGovern's Lotus BBQ in Clarksville/Columbia for those of you who are attending that event. This one typically wraps up by 6pm.

    A fellow FChatter mentioned that At Speed Motorsports is having their annual open house that day as well.

    Maybe we can fit that into our schedule?

    Annapolis Yacht Club is having their car show also. I heard there will be kosher food. :)

    Is that the Porsche shop of Rte 100? I am picking up an FCHAT member from NE region from Baltimore and taking him to Annapolis Yacht Club car show.

    If it's the place off Rte 100, we should swing by on our way to Annapolis.

    Can anyone confirm the location?

    I think this is the same place that hosted the legendary Derek Bell/Puff Daddy autograph session.

    It is the same place. Derek Bell was their guest last year. They are off of 100 and Coca Cola Drive.

    What time is everyone planning to go to the different events?

    Don't forget that on Sunday we have the Radnor Hunt Concours d'Elegance. Its a 2 hour trip from the DC area and a chance to see some very special cars. There is special interest parking right up front.

    Hope to see some of you there.

    At Motorsports event doesn't start until noon.

    I'm picking up a fellow Tifosi in Balto Inner Harbor at 0900 and heading straight to Annapolis Yacht Club for Keels & Wheels show - lunch and cigars at the Fleet Reserve Club along Ego Alley.

    I wish there was a way to fit the Yacht Club event into everything but it might be tough...

    I would guess:

    1200-1400 Oktoberfest

    1430-1530 At Speed

    1600-? Lotus

    It's going to be a full day.

    It's good to be a DC area resident and a car nut. Days like these are what keep me here.

    Unfortunately, I will be in HHI this year and can't make it. Have fun guys.

    This was an action packed day last year, but unfortunately i'll be in Louisville next weekend and can't make it this year :(

    I wish we could join you at Dave's Oktoberfest but LA organized a combined three-class reunion Saturday evening. Some of them have been lifelong friends since kindergarten!

    This will be the first time we have missed Dave's event. I'm bummed out.

    Kevin - Autoy is almost right around the corner from Timpanos, and Kevin's Lotus event isn't over until 7 pm so there should be plenty of time.
