    I'm just curious.

I read somewhere that there were unsold Veyrons. I don't know if this meant in a particular country, or worldwide. Or in showrooms or at the factory.

    Does anyone have any numbers?

to further the question, are all of the "special editions" coming out now retrofitted cars that had been built and not sold?

One is at Bentley of Troy (in Michigan). It's a very pretty car.

Is the one in Troy really unsold? It has 400+ miles on it. Are they delivery miles? :)

Where? It seems to me that most of the cars for sale were ordered and delivered to individuals and then put up for sale. Are there any brand new ones that were ordered by dealers rather than individuals that are for sale?

Yes. They test the car at the factory and put a few hundred miles on them. Then they put new wheels and tires on the car before it is delivered to the customer.

Bentley Gold Coast has a black one that looks new but I think it may be a customer's car that was traded in towards the lift-off roof model.

Odd then there's the story of that guy who paid in full and never got his delivered, and is now suing for his $1.5mm back.

Strange that this attempt to restage the classic name Bugatti seems to be about as cursed an endeavor as trying to play Cleopatra in the movies...

Or maybe it just seems so to me -

There were 3 at Romans Intl. in England last week. 1 of them was the first convertible version in Europe

250-260 delivery miles; after that, I don't have an answer for you.

He probably tried to change specs/order and they said no and the argument went from there. Just a guess.

OMG - say it ain't so. A possible anti-Semetic angle (not proven of course) involving Volkswagen - of all companies.

    Yuck.

Sorry, but I don't buy it. Schreiber obviously took a huge leap at the end of that piece and tossed out his own credibility by doing so. I haven't read any of his previous material so he might just be a sensationalist, but the fact that he's a long-time friend and previous client of Zekelman's attorney could explain where the suggestion originated and why it has been planted on the internet.

    1. I'm surprised that Bugatti wouldn't accommodate him on the VIN, unless it was for crash test/DOT reasons.

    2. I'm surprised the guy would be SO hard line on the VIN year that he wouldn't take the exact car he wanted, when he wanted, just because of the registration year.

Both parties not being reasonable. Hey, keeps us lawyers in business.

Would you take delivery of a 2008 Veyron by march 2009 when year and mileage are so sensitive to resale value ? Look at how some people would pay extra for a 1992 F40 etc.

I dont know what a VW needs to do to get a 2009 Veyron out so it could be that they didnt want because this car would be an even greater loss for them but not refunding him after the car was sold is just ridiculous.

Yes, because I wanted a Veyron and got a Veyron - it's good enough when new, and I'm not buying to flip it in 10 years. I don't remember it saying there were special 09 options available (in fact no "09" cars at all eh). Further, were I a Billionaire (in Canada, even more rare), it would matter even less.

This is a head scratcher for sure.....but only as to why. If I was the judge, I'd rule for Zekelman in about 5 minutes.
