If you don't understand that these cars are separated by more than lap times then there's not much we can do for you.
Well,458 is going to be uncontested by Mclaren for another 2 years,so far it's only promises, promises from Woking..... You can wait for your MP4-12whatever while I enjoy my Italia and when,if,you finally get it ,it will be time for me to trade my car for another iteration of that line.
good lord. 'magazine racing' before the darn thing is even a reality! so when are you taking delivery of the 12C? you have no idea... and that's the point.
Did it with 599 and again with 430S,why shouldn't I post pics of 458? Btw,I was not doubting your ability to purchase any of these cars,I'm not so sure about Mclaren's ability to bring that car to market though.
Go troll a different thread. This one is about the 458 Italia's presentation. There is a different thread comparing the 458 & the MP whatever...
I have faith that their new car will come on stream (as promised) and be every bit as wonderful as the F1 road car was. A paragon of British technology.
I think the 355 best handled the issue of how to do side scoops for all time. That's why I respect the Italia. It goes one further and eliminates them entirely -- and reduces drag as well. To those who love the McLaren, I have no issues. Call me a poseur but it takes more than just fast lap times to turn me on.
One question I've seen posed three times here and not addressed is whether the interior vents/parts are truly plastic, or a painted/finished aluminum. I know people that don't know the cars see the silver interior bits in a 360/430 and sometimes think they are plastic when in fact they are aluminum painted aluminum. Just wondering if that is indeed the case here with the 458.
Yes, I have posted twice about it. I will be very disappointed if it's plastic, but I'm sure it's aluminium. The whole car is made of alu, why would the use plastic for the interior. Some people said they have a problem telling which is which, but I believe metal (alu) is cold to the touch, unlike plastic which is not cold even if it's painted.
This car is stunning in all departments i believe - nothing in person with dis agreers can some body post the official F458 video (in which 2 r racing each other) in real hi quality - i watched the cell phone recording and yes its a worthy share - but the official movie will be more more detailed
I do not know. But..... don't be so sure that they won't use plastic ! All manufacturers have gotten "cheap". All the grill-work on a Lamborghini has become plastic; as have those on many other high end cars. My question is: how much more would it cost the manufacturer of a $300k+ automobile to use metal grills instead ? $20 to $40 a car (at their cost); big deal !!
Smooth you are obviously very good at arguing your point. This is Ferrari chat though, and the 458 is the most exciting ferrari for some time (IMHO). Why don't you go and hang out at MclarenChat and stroke everyone?
