I want to publicly thank Todd Helme with Tropical Detailing for doing such a great job on my car. The paint is like glass even though I gave him a limited amount of time to work on it! I like doing business with the best and I can now say that I will be a client for Todd as long as he lets me . . . .

The rest show the glass like paint, the attention to detail, the great interior work, the polished carbon fiber, etc. etc.

It is surprising that the paint could have so many microscratches when it is nearly new. Todd does great work, glad you are happy with the finish on your car.

Believe me - I was the most surprised, but this shot was after Todd decontaminated the paint to strip off any wax or other things that make the micro scratches less noticeable.

    Dear Ferraristi,

    Wow....beautiful job....paint just glows!

Just wondering....does Ferrari use 2 stage paint on newer cars now?

    Or....is it still single stage?

Is this glow due to the clearcoat being polished or the actual paint?

That's a beautiful car and Tom seems like he's the right man to detail it. Very nice detailing work!

It is always worth it to go with the best, and Todd is definitely the best.

    Beautiful machine!

    Shamile -

My understanding is that it is still hand painted with several layers of paint and several layers of clearcoat just like all modern cars. The scratches you see are in the clearcoat layer and are polished out. Todd uses a machine to detect paint thickness - there was no change to paint depth from when he started.
