I don't think any Ferrari is ugly. The Italia may not be beautiful to some eyes but it is still good looking. Ferrari's are still the pinnacle of automotive design. Better than any porsche, maser, alfa, or aston.
it is way to early to judge the appearance of the 458. no photo will give us the same perspective as a "real look". driving the car will complete the picture. only after you see and drive the car can you truly formulate an opinion as to whether or not you might want to take ownership of one. however, two minutes after looking at the initial photos of the 458, i decided to add my name to the proverbial wait list. i don't expect to be disappointed!
While everyone is entitled to their opinion, i must ask, has anyone seen this car in person yet? Normally they're always different in flesh. For example, i thought the 599, thru the pics i saw with the pentagram wheels was one of the most ugliest Ferrari. However, when i got to see, sit in one when it first came here, it was gorgeuos, and definitely one of the most beautiful Ferraris every made. The California, however, even tho i've seen it in flesh, it's still ugly to me. Definitely i understand no point comparing it to other Ferraris. The California, IMO, is a bold move for a totally different market, but it's just ugly IMHO. The 458, i think it's beautiful. Not overdone, love the lines and styling. Can't wait to see it in person..
Yes, I see exactly what you mean about the bonnet looking too big in that shot, but my eye picks that up as a consequence of perspective. What amazes me about that particular shot is that everything I don't like about the front in the other shots looks brilliant to me in this pic. All the details just work perfectly, even the odd corners on the bonnet. To me, in that shot at least, it manages to look aggressive, beautiful and very modern all at once. Should I buy one I'll have to make sure I only ever look at it from that angle!
The whole car would look better in nero, as it will dampen the shape of the head-lights and those under hood vents ...... also those LEDs look far better on the P4/5 ......
exactly..things always look better in black....just got the FORZA today--now that's a sweet car..5 years down the road I'll be looking for one..if I can talk myself into the "automatic" shifter thingy....
I'm starting to like it the more I see it. I'll have to wait till I can view the car in person but I still do not like the look from the front.
I agree with every word. I would add that the 612 has the opposite effect on me: I loved the pics, but when I saw the first one I thought it looked loke a whale. Strange how pictures can sometimes totally miscommunicate what the car really looks like, for good or for bad.
And I have the exact opposite reaction to the 612. I think it's pig ugly in photos and fully understand why it causes so much controversy. From the original photos, and not having seen one in the flesh, I was struggling to imagine what Ferrari were thinking when they gave the design the green light, let alone what the designers were thinking when they put pen to paper. But now, having seen them in the flesh (and I do every morning, there's one that parks up at my train station), I see an incredibly handsome car. And I chose the word 'handsome' very carefully. My only crit would be that it might be a little too big. Other than that, stunning.
Really? I found it ugly in the pics, and uglier still in real life. It's a bloated, ugly car, with mismatched parts and incoherent lines and taillights that are far too small for the bulbous rear. Handsome? You think overweight women are beautiful too?
I was literally shocked by how good it looks in real life after several months of only seeing it in pictures and thinking it was a candidate for ugliest car in the world. I think some people decide it's ugly from the pics and once their mind is made up there's no going back no matter what they see before their eyes.
Lol, no. I don't like them fat and ugly either though. Anyone who thinks the 612 is not bloated needs glasses, and has no sense of proportion.
The hundreds of satisfied international clients I've served up with graphic design over the last twenty years would be interested to know I have no sense of proportion...
Ive never seen a riced Civic with led lights but i have seen Audi R8 and even the legendary Ferrari P4-5 with led lights. So I guess we have differents definition of "rice" car.
For crying out loud, enough with the LED lights "rice" comments please. You don't like it, you can modify it back to lightbulbs. You might want to replace your home lights back to candles as well while at it, LOL
Sorry guy, that's a just a silly comment. Personally, I don't like them either but it's far from what you describe. If you want to comment negatively on the car, great. But let's not start insulting, OK?
Send me their addresses and I will be sure to let them know. A little full of ourselves today, are we?
Not at all. I'm just guessing that you might know a little less about proportion than you think you do.
