Ooooooh, I know I've been in this thread before... It's always good to update though.... 1) Stripped, GT2 spec Scuderia w/ twin Novitec Superchargers. Matte Black. Reason: *simply to scare children and the edlerly* Purpose: *The closest thing to a machine-gun on wheels possible* 2) RUF 997 Reason: *To improve on perfection* Purpose: *Long highway drives, Sunday excursions etc.* 3) BMW M5 G-power TT. Bianco Fugi w/ black Dymag single nut wheels & tinted windows. Reason: *Sumo wrestler with a bazooka* Purpose: *Something uniquely unnecessary and faster than Chuck Norris* 4) Caterham R500 Superlight Reason: *To let me know I'm mortal* Purpose: *Best track-car ever!* 5) 2004 Golf R32 Reason: *The R32 is like a quickey - Gets the job done, still feels great.* Purpose: *Daily* _J
365 or 512 Boxer (w/ yellow/black Boxer paint) 275 GTB4 (red or yellow) 288 GTO (red, natch) Aluminum-bodied Shelby Cobra replica w/ 485" FE motor, dual quads (black w/ burgundy interior) '67 L89 Corvette Coupe (marina blue on white) These would be the 5 cars in my garage; if I had a stable of cars like this I'd be happy to drive just about ANYTHING* (which would sit outside) for daily driver duty. *(Except a Prius.)
i have many more than 5 cars now. to limit it to 5 I would have to think a bit, and i'll probably post this faster than the though process deserves. 1. Corvette ZR1, 2010. launch control, ptm, more torque than most any other car just off idle, fastest car with a conventional clutch/stick conventional manual tranny car ever. imagine how fast it would be on a track with proper downforce and some sticky tires. 2. A Scorpion 4x4. www.scorption4x4.com. I think that often the joys of offroad driving are lost on sports car folks not because sports car folks are ignorant in any way, but because most people have driven fast but few have driven up something really really -preposterously amazingly scarily terrifyingly steeply rockily horrible. Offroading is this unbelievable feeling of freedom and no street legal factory-stock vehicle is better at it than the Scorp. Patented suspension with 4=wheel feedback to keep equal pressure on all 4 tires. One tire lifts, it gets pushed down, etc. 3. A lamborghini lp560-4. My favoirte car right now, i've put 3000 miles on one in the last month. Soon it'll be 5000, later 30,000 and it'll be a beater-exotic. I had considerable reservations about the car in the first week or two that I had it, but after getting used to it and learnings its quirks and systems I've come to love that little thing. One of the very, very best looking cars ever, incredibly fast in normal stoplight to stoplight driving (all wheel drive so it has traction), tremendous sound in "sport" mode (fairly boring noise in normal mode, which was initially dissapointing). As close to an everyday driver that "exotic" cars have come, possibly (the 911 Turbo isn't exotic in my book, although I love it), and faster than all but a tiny few factory cars. 4. A Rolly Royce Phantom Drophead Coupe. Never driven a roller. But I've driven various Bentleys, and I dearly love the Continental GT. The rolls drophead should have better room in the backset (the Conti GT has basically none), it should smell at least as good, it should ride at leat as good and it should have a certain panache that only a rolls could have. And so we have 2 sports cars, a truck (gotta have a truck), and a luxury 'vert. That leaves one choice. Everything except possibly the ZR1 and Scorp here is a depreciating asset, (ZR1 in the fullness of time may be a million dollar car. When do they quit making it? How many get modded? these ar ethe variables). So whats choice #5? I can't even really decide here. Enzo? Veyron? Scuderia? Carrera GT? a big silly limo? a conversion van with a disco ball? I bought my parents a DTS with the full leather interior and the analine leather option and frankly that is the best smelling place I have ever been in my life that wasn't between the shoulder and ear of a girl. And its a throwback... no concern for handling at all, no concern for balance, just a boat riding soft suspensioned car with 10 tons of body roll. But my god it smells good, and everything is lit in blue inside, and driving in it is almost a slutty experience. But ... that can't be choice #5 can it? I want one, I do, but it can't be choice #5. And here folks we have come to my greatest flaw and greatest challenge in life from here. commitmentphobia. When i'm down to 1 choice I get massively indecisive. One girl, one house, ... or one more car to make the 5th choice, I simply cannot choose. lol
As someone already said, the list changes daily. But some cars will never change. First and foremost, the dream, the ultimate, the reason why I get up in the morning, the reason I exist and the reason that I live: 134282. Image Unavailable, Please Login Of course, I would render a few modifications so that it would look like 137331: Image Unavailable, Please Login Next on the list is a Lotus Exige: Image Unavailable, Please Login I'd like a Noble, an F50 and a Porsche 962 CR - but I think between the Enzo and the Exige, those last three might be a bit superfluous. So I definitely need something completely different - like Chris Evans' black SWB Spyder California, s/n 2377 GT! Image Unavailable, Please Login The Testarossa holds a special place in my heart. But I love convertibles. So I think I would have to have a cut Testarossa. Further adding to the cringing purists' pain, I would probably find and buy 77762 and commission Straman to cut it. Image Unavailable, Please Login Last but not least, I must have the Breadvan, 2819 GT. In January, I would drive it from California to West Palm and park it in the parking lot at Cavallino. Image Unavailable, Please Login Someone here on FerrariChat sent me this picture a while ago. While this car isn't on my list - I love the way it's been done. Minus the yellow cut Testarossa, this is how the other four cars on my list would look (yes, even the chrome and the Borranis on 2377 GT!): Image Unavailable, Please Login
