Not quite. I've done oil change @ our friend's workshop & several other minor jobs like changing exhausts, adjusting+changing shocks, tail lamps etc etc.

You can also order body parts off internet & have them fixed in any good bodyshop. Actually, general servicing & jobs are pretty the same for all cars. People here are not getting their hands dirty these days. (Back in my poly days, I bought 2 vintage scooters to assemble into a good one. Stripped, rebuilt+repaint it from ground up but it couldn't fire up :D & there was no internet in those days :( )

However, I believe that only ES has the diagnostic system now. (seems like a simple software loaded into laptop) Clutch job will be a huge job on the V12s as the entire engine must be hoisted out.

Hello :) I took some pics of the DMC recently when it was @ the dealer's place asking for S$60K neg. It was leaking power steering fluid & needs new rubber seals for the body + some other work. I'll need time to find where I kept the pics though.

I saw one Urraco about 5yrs ago & it's always parked outside a house opp. the now China Embassy. Are there any left in Singapore?

Swiss tuner creates an 846bhp 911 Turbo with Bugatti Veyron-rivalling performance

It’s a 911. But not as we know it. Standard 911 Turbos don’t come out of the factory with carbon-Kevlar bodywork. They aren’t born with a secondary safety cage, two injectors per cylinder and titanium conrods either. Above all, Weissach doesn’t equip them with the firepower to see off a Veyron....

Yes thats the one. It was the Only one, there are none left in Sg (sorry all, my fault). but on the bright side, its now safe from the horrid tropical weather of singapore..(old Lambos are super rust prone) as well as super dodgy mechanics (the last guy to work on it in Sg couldnt fix a simple belt issue which i fixed within a week after sourcing the belt)

Re the DMC, i believe there are 2 . my Uncles sold for $230K as far as i recall. apparently importation of them into Singapore is currently prohibited. (btw, the number plate was "EY....T".

you possibly saw the same one.. it was pretty good back then except the engine(btw worst engine ever made[a peugeot, renault and volvo co-operation] constantly overheated), there was some rubber seals missing, but the steering was fine then. was surprised my uncle managed that sale price.

could you send me the DMC pics? also the Urraco if you have any..

    cheers
    Bri

    +1

the diagnostic kit would only cost perhaps 10K euros so shouldn't be too long before somebody decides to get one.

Having said that the PI lambo at 2+yrs asking 590K is pretty expensive, so I doubt it'll be selling anytime soon..

Stuttgarts only claim to fame used to be that they had the only diagnostics... today you can buy an aftermarket program by DURAMETRICS where there software to download to your computer from the internet with regular updates and the necessary cable for just $600.... compared with the SGD20,000 for the official system.... this covers all cars from 964 to 997....

I even have the software and its amazing.... diagnose everything, show data from the ECU whilst the car is running and erase fault codes.... if/when that occurs for Lambo/Ferrari.... the flood gates will open... I even wonder if it already exists...

Now, can I swing by your home one evening to see you, doctor? :) Not that it's sick :D

    That's very interesting mate.

Well, that said. I'm sure most of us owners including me will still go back to the ADs for an assured peace of mind for owning an expensive toy. The stigma for selling a "grey" hi-end vehicle persists except probably for those under S$200K stuffs.

The only good news I would say is that modern exotics are much better built than before requiring lesser maintenance.

However, the older cars have less electronics which often give problems on the newer cars.

My RS aint quite hit sub 200k yet mate... well I hope not!! Hahah

Actually, its great having guys like espace that work on the cup cars... I figure that if they can make weng go as well as he does then they are good enough for my car. And the simple reality is... guys that are not constrained by politics and authorised agent limitations, but are fuelled by passion, really can make the difference. I have seen some of the workmanship on cars prepared by Stuttgart, and then modified by Espace and can tell you that given the right mechanic with the right experience and passion.... an authorised agent whilst always great to have and important are not the be all and end all, even for the newer cars.... talking Porsche purely of course in case Mel reads this hehehe...

Eh Lung, how old do u mean old? 328s & before? As far as I know there are a lot of problems with electronics on 348 onwards & the 5 figured air-con units.

I also can't imagine the issues when the LCD screen dies in post-599s & there must be at least a dozen ECUs monitoring these babies.

That's why I'm still a vintage guy & always dreaming of owning a lightweight 911 with cabs & wired clutches/accelerator that gives u all that period sound & sensitive actions.
