Went to gas station to fill up tank prior to going to DMV later the week or next to re register car.

Guy pulls up on other side of pump and says:

"Hey, it that a real one?"

Oh, well, at least he recognized it for what is is/is supposed to be.

    Are there that many replicas?

I haven't heard that one when I'm out in the 328.

I was at the local drag strip 2 years ago and was standing away from the car but close enough to hear these two guys talking while walking around the car. One of them was a self proclaimed "Ferrari expert" to the other and was picking my car apart telling his friend "this is not right, that's not right, its a good kit car but not a real Ferrari." It got to the point of him saying "I'd like to see what kind of engine they put in this" so I walked over, introduced myself and popped the hatch as if I had not heard the other comments. I looked the guy square in the eye and said "have you ever seen a REAL ferrari"? His friend got a kick outta that. lol

My most often comment is "Hey nice Fiero" :)

But the best was while at the Arizona DMV for emissions when the girl walks up with my registration and says "Nice kit, where did you have it built?"
My response was "Umm, Italy? ...maybe?"

Still my favourite comment of all time was from a young boy - I'll guess 6 or 7 years old. He pointed at my 328 and called out "Mom!! Look at that car!" His mom said "And what kind of car is that?" His reply...

    "I don't know, but it's REALLY COOL!!"

Parked it because the main fuel crossovers were leaking and my priorities at the time were paying off my house as fast as I could, and starting a business.

Now that the house is paid for, the business is profitable and I have the 1961 Corvette restored/improved, it was time for the Fcar resurection.

The gent who bought my 80' GTB from the dealer drove it for about a year then he moved to Europe. The car sat in storage for 9 years in a good climate back in the 1980's while he was gone. When he returned he sold the car to the 2nd owner who put a lot of time and $$ into getting it back in shape. Since then it has been driven as a weekender or special occasion vehicle by the owers. I am the 4th owner. The storage and recovery were apparently done correctly as the car shows only the things you would normally expect to see in a 30 year old machine.

That's a similar situation that happened to me two days ago - LOL! Except, the "expert" was by himself and he was pointing out the "wrong parts' that were on my car. He even said that he had a Ferrari himself - same year as mine but he was wrong on the year of my car. I had to straighten his dumb a$$ out and point out that there are differences between the US/Euro cars. I don't think he has a Ferrari and is just a babbling baboon :D

I was asked once by a lady, "where did you get that kit?" I said there's a place in Maranello Italy that used to built them but they're not making this kit anymore, they only make them for the newer Ferrari now. And she said wow! they make good kit.:)

Portland. The sun is out what, 5 times a year? :)

Everytime I was there all I saw was a fine mist falling, all the time. Sidewalks, trees and shingle roofs all had moss on them.

My cousin and his family live in Portland. They have moss on them too, as do most all the citizens of that fine city.
