What does the square switch next to the handbrake do? The symbol is worn off mine and I have never used it. Thanks.

I didn't even know I had a rear defroster. Is it electric? Thanks for the help.

No, that doesn't look like the switch on mine. Mine is a square push button, where at that looks like a rectangular toggle. Also, I don't have the vents on the rear deck.

The second photo was to show you the heating elements embedded in the rear glass, not the venting on the rear deck. The switch is a toggle that has a small light (in orange) that illuminates when turned on. The heating element in the rear glass gets warm after a minute or two when you turn on the switch.

    I see now. Thanks.

Maybe that is what the switch does. I'll check that tomorrow.

It's not the radio antenna because there is another switch for that.

Ferrari refers to the window heater in their Italian translations (i.e. OM) as a 'Thermic Window'.

    My '81 is a rectangular, lit-when-actived PUSH-In, PUSH-Out switch. No toggle.

It activates/deactivates the rear window defroster.

Wow. I wish my interior looked like that. Great job.

I notice the button on yours is hard to read also, but that is exactly the same as mine so it must be the rear defrost.

    prefer the smaller "Nardi-Personal"...
the original Nardi is on the shelf in the "original parts" box
