knowing that everyone loves their toys and knowing the deficiences of the 348 and 355, if you had another 30K to spend on another car (keeping the Ferrari) what would be your choice and why?

I plan on adding a 308 GTSi at some point to my garage. Always wanted one since I was a kid. ;)

If our 308's were $30K here in Aus, I would have 2 of them in the garage. :D:D

But IF I had a spare US $30K and lived in the USA, I would add a 308 GTB QV to the collection. :D:D

US $30K wouldnt buy you any model of Ferrari in Australia. :(:(

I spent about six weeks in Australia while I was participating in the World Solar Challenge solar car race back in 1993 with the University of Oklahoma team. First, let me say that this one of the best experiences of my life. You Aussies are some of the friendliest people I have ever met and I have traveled around the world. ;) Secondly, I was absolutely blown away at the price of cars there. I talked to many of the team members from some of the Aussie solar car teams and could not believe that many of them had not even had their first car yet. And we are talking college students! When I told them that I had already had several cars by that time, they thought I must have been rich. Anyway, I feel for you over there for the prices you must pay for your cars (toys or transportation). I would love to go back some day. :D

    Awesome! :D:D

If you EVER make it back here Todd, be sure to swing past Mount Isa eh! ;);)

Also, we get ****ed on cars here in Aus. Import/exotic cars are the worst. :(:(

Looks like a big bar of soap... :D

Now, the Rover in the background, that's a good looking car!

I would get a LR Defender for a fun off road car. $30K isn't much to work with...

I would get a SL55 or SL500 depending on price and mileage. I have seen the 2003 - 2004's go for around that price. The performance is decent and you get the benefit of a convertible hard top. Lots of them out there.

Lol!! Well, I will have a month off from home...........so I think I will bring the laptop with me, much to my wifes disgust no doubt!:eek:

Will also take it on the honeymoon with us. Its a Ferrari Acer laptop. I need SOMETHING Ferrari to remind me of Betsy sitting at home in the garage............all alone. :(:(

Upon my return home, 30 days later..............I will be sure to fire her up and stretch her legs to the tune of 7800 RPM so I can hear the sweet Ferrari symphony bellowing out the back!:eek:

+1. You should see this man's stable! I'm green with envy (or should I say white)! LOL

EDIT: You could also buy a new Harley and mod it, like I did. Being a future organ donor is something to look forward to and it's "Green".

I would then keep my Lotus Esprit V8, instead of the plan to sell it to get into a F355!

i'd probably get an old british car, like an AH 3000, or a nice MGA. Just a fun cruiser that takes effort to drive.

With a Spider now I'd probably go along with the Porsche Turbo coupe. Nice regular driver, plenty of fun, and who cares if it rains :)

Assuming I already had a 348 and a boring daily driver, and the additional car would certainly be a 'toy', then I'd go for some sort of trackday weapon like a second-hand Ariel Atom. Could those be bought for 30k (and are we talking $US or £GB)?

    All the best,
    Andrew.

I think it would have to be an 06-07 Lotus Elise... they're really coming down in price...

    :)
