It does indeed look a little bit like a 308. Not a lot, but certainly somewhat. So the owner, and the buyer, can't afford a real ferrari - why rain on their parade for wanting a bit of a thrill just like the guys who can afford a real ferrari?? What's wrong with that?

With a chev 350 and cam/head work it's actually going to be pretty fast (in a straight line)...likely somewhere around 350-375 hp/tq. That'll be faster than a stock 308 2V by a fair bit, even with the add'l weight.

So it might be ugly but it'll be well ahead of you 10 seconds into a stop light drag race!

 

It's really about being a 'poseur' - why not take pride in the fact that is a FIREBIRD (not a horrid car by
any stretch of the imagination) - why make it
look like something it's not? It would be like putting teeny tiny panties on a fat woman
to me.... accept what you have and keep it in context.

[edit] and I would have NO problem having him 'beat me at a light' - I would be in a FERRARI, and
he would be in a hideous Firebird that's primered from one end to another, with a stupid F-car kit on it.
I don't 'drag race' at red lights in a 270 HP 3.2 liter sports car. Who does? Teenagers?

Now there's a business opportunity.
