We need a diversion, so here's my idea...

There are four races left in the season, so who is up for a 4-race pool? We used to do this at my previous job for the entire season and it was pretty fun. This can be a mini test run, and if people like it we can do a full season next year. How it works is, you pick one driver prior to each race weekend, but you can only use each driver once. You receive the points your driver earns in that weekend's race, and at the end of the year the person with the highest point total wins, with tie-breakers being # wins, 2nds, etc. I'll run it, and anyone who's interested PM their email & username to me so I can bulk-email everyone. I'll send out reminders and updates, and your pick will be due by the end of the Thursday before each race weekend.

I figured it might provide a nice alternative to the news, and since competition is pretty close it makes selection difficult. I haven't really thought about a prize, but I'm open to suggestions there as well.

As far as two people picking the same driver, you'll both get the points. But the selections are secret so you won't be able to choose based on who others are selecting. Does that make sense?

 

Also, since I'm playing I'll make my pick on Wednesday night and then have everyone send their pick on Thursday. Wouldn't be fair if I knew who everyone took each time!
