Firefox 3.5 keeps crashing today

Anyone fixed this before? I"ve been using Firefox for the last 2 years. And today it keeps crashing every 4 mintues.

Nothing new on the comptuer, and the rest of the compter is working great.

Any ideas?

I treid a quick add/remove software from the control panel and then reinstall, but the same problem is still present.

I didn't see a fix in that thread but I also didn't read every post and jumped to the last page where it still looks unresolved. Some people downgraded. I assume you have windows and tried the latest 3.5.3 when you reinstalled. Try a downgrade and see if it still happens.

Try posting on their forums too for your specific issue. Hopefully you can get it resolved. If not, have you tried Google Chrome?

 

Thanks for the help. I just added Google Chrome (for kicks). I liked Firefox, had it set-up so I could move fast... hope I can get it to work again. Meanwhile, I'll play around with Chrome, is it good?

 

The newest Chrome is nice because it's much faster. It's still relatively new so it might not have the flexibility that FF does but it's a decent alternative for a quick browser. I actually bounce around 4 different browsers (IE, FF, Chrome & Safari) and each one has its relative benefit.

In your case, try downloading http://www.revouninstaller.com/ if you're on Windows and fully uninstall FF using this free tool. It'll help clean up the registry and other related files that the normal Windows uninstaller won't do. Reboot after cleanup and reinstall a clean copy of FF and slowly start adding your previous plugins over a period of time to see if one of the plugins might be the cause. A bit of a shot in the dark but worth a try.

im using 3.5.2

the previous ones crashed like a drunken slut

i had download some 2. something version that worked really well and never gave me problems
i updated thinking some of the ad on feartures would be worth it, and they were but it crashed like crazy

after i loaded 3.5.2 it has not crashed at all, use to crash like 3 to 5 times in 5 min.
and thats from coming here, and checking email and simple basic stuff.

this version works great and there is an update available but i wont bite lol
im sticking to this one until i really have a reason to upgrade to the next update

 

I'm using 3.5.3 with no issues so far.
