I thought Renault was banned for the next two seasons.Yet everywhere has them as listed to compete next year. Are they gonna spend millions to compete without reward?

It's a suspended sentence... this means that for a predetermined amount of time if they put a toe out of line the punishment will come into full effect and they'll have a two year ban. If they remain good during the predetermined amount of time, then the punishment will be dropped.

So they can continue to go racing, but if another wheel falls off... they've had it.

    All the best,
    Andrew.

They are being coy as to their plans for 2010.

It's as severe a punishment as a suspended death sentence.

Imagine that. Someone is convicted of serial homicide, and given the harshest punishment possible: the death sentence. Then it's waived/suspended with a simple "if you kill anyone again in the next 730 days, then you'll be punished".

The F1 Justice system at work. Just don't get caught jaywalking wearing silver overalls.

Oh, but RenaultF1 will have to pay the legal/investigation fees, and do some community service work.

This has been discussed in each and every one of these threads and every single press release. How are people still not understanding this?

Those unfamiliar with the sport expect a modicum of logic.
