True. Part of that, I think, is because Crompton is just not a good QB. Can't ask him to do much because he really doesn't seem capable.
Glad to see FSU is not the terrible team people were claiming the past few weeks. USC seems to lose to some no name crew every year, but they usually do it early enough that it does not matter. I was hoping Nebraska would beat VT to have them down against us next week. Georgia is playing real sEC football. BT
Still standing by the above. USC was a bit overrated. Florida and Texas both had surprisingly close games. Alabama is ready for Arkansas this coming week. I'd like to see Alabama run the wildcat formation with Star Jackson to utilize his passing threat. The top 3 rankings are pretty solid. Florida, Texas, and Alabama would play each other a very competitive game in any matchup at this point.
The game to watch is the October 10th matchup of Florida versus LSU. This game is at LSU, where they play better, and at night, when they play better (party schools play better in the evenings than in the mornings), and after Florida has an off-week...so expect Florida to get off to a slow start as they work out the cobwebs. LSU easily has the talent to win...held back only by a coach who knows nothing but to be agressive 24/7/365. He's a one-trick pony. If LSU manages to be lucky-enough to not get into a situatiuon that requires a coaching decision, then they could win. Otherwise, the odds are that Les Miles will blow it for them.
I'm not thinking we should be ranked so highly, but I'll take it (for now). I think Miami should be ranked about #14-15. USC should be maybe #15 or so, and I would put Florida at #2 behind Alabama at #1 with Texas as #3. Next weekend should have some more shake ups in store. Hopefully Miami can go 3-0, but I think VT will be as tough as FSU. GO CANES! BT
Hmmm, TCU is the top ranked school in the Mountain West now. I know the MW is not considered very strong but TCU is still ranked 15th.........They finished last year at 7th after defeating previouly unbeaten Boise State at the Poinsettia Bowl after beginning the year ranked 17. Took Texas State 56-21 Saturday. TSU really brought it to TCU until half way through the 3rd quarter when TCU finally tightened up their defense. I think they may have made the mistake of thinking past TEXAS STATE to Clemson next week.
The Clemson TCU game should be a good one. I think Miami got a 6 place bump up for beating GT, and a 5 place bump up for FSU beating BYU. GO CANES! BT
I was surprised with the CANES rank, But I'll take it too. They're really shaping up. If they beat VT, They'll deserve to be a top 10 team. We'll see. Cross those fingers! They'll need it next week!
The U's QB, Jacory Harris, is a very exciting player to watch & I'm sure a great teammate to be around. With a more experienced/established surrounding cast, he'd have been my Heisman front-runner at the moment w/ his performances & capabilities. A bit premature, I know. But, if he continues such play into November & beyond (and his team is winning), his name should be w/ the rest. . . Florida at LSU. That's gonna be the game. I think Oklahoma can beat Texas, even w/o Bradford. For being a potential BCS national championship game selection (obviously if they remain #2), the Longhorns haven't displayed the execution, poise, nor discipline of a real contender. And that's right... PITT is 3-0, baby!
So far the Horns have been pretty lackluster in offense this season. I'm hoping they're just trying to get over the high expectations. I'll be worried if we don't handle UTEP easily and we don't blow out Colorado, until then I'm happy with how we are so far. Florida didn't look invincible this past weekend which is a nice change, however a W is a W. Unfortunately for Bama, Florida, and Ole' Miss they can't all stay at the top after the season is over.
Too much hype about Miami recently. It is exciting to win a few big games, but I feel the team might be thinking they have already won the rest of their games. Tonight's game should be good, I'll be watching it. LSU - UF is going to be a good one too!!! BT
I will PM you my address so you can send me some of the drugs you are on. Without Bradford - maybe, but you add up all the other players they have lost, and I doubt it.
What will be intersting will be to see how many of the former Miami U players that are or were in the NFL start standing on the sidelines. Remember back in 2001-02-03 when Miami was in a class by themselves? We'd see 20-30 'name' NFL players on the sidelines? Well, when Miami started losing, those clowns all-but disappeared from the sidleines. Betcha we see some tonight.
WOW #4 OLE PISS losing to unranked South Carolina. Where are all you Ole Piss BIG MOUTHS now ???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? Welcome to the Grove, where Championship Dreams go to DIE
Florida was # 4 (like Ole Miss) when they lost to unranked (like SC) Ole Miss last year (at home I might add): http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/preview?gameId=282710057
Your visor throwing coach proved he is "good" when he won at Duke before UF but I'm starting to believe his success at UF was due more to home grown athletes (i.e. Florida high school studs) than coaching. Urban has twice the titles in what 1/5 the years?
