I am on the way in the morning to Lynchburg, TN to meet with Jeff Arnett to select a barrel of Jack Daniel's. We did this about three years ago with Jimmy Bedford and time for another. Marvelous treat to sit with the master distiller to pick out a fine whiskey. The entire barrel is bottled and shipped, equates to about 240 bottles. These are aged up to seven years and very smooth compared to Jack black, plus 94 proof.

Great with a few cubes of ice and splash of water!! Yum.

I saw that program when I was there last year. That would be "oh so very cool to get your own barrel of JD".
How many people are going on in this with you?

Back from JD, 1.5 hours with Jeff Arnett. Unbelievable information he passes on about how each barrel has its own distinct flavor between oaky and vanilla due to being in the most upper levels of the store houses. Selected one that was very smooth with hint of vanilla. In all 45 cases; equates to 270 bottles.

One other individual went in for a quarter. I'll need a small truck to get all this back home from the liquor store. As well as the actual barrel the whiskey was pulled from.

Once back here in VA, I'll put together a barrel tasting party for any one interested.

    Cheers!!!

Picked up the bottles yesterday evening. This is going to be a challenge. :) Had several individuals want to go in on the purchase, but bailed after arrangements where made to make the trip to the distillery.

This is equates to 270 750ml bottles. Got to love it!!

    Stan, congrats.....

I must say I was intrigued by this after you posted and went I to the website to learn more. They have a bit of info regarding the process and it seem pretty cool. Though, that's a hell of a lot of bottles!

    Enjoy!
