    Probably confusion with 354S from time when Ferrari tried to avoid confusion with 12-cylinder cars designeting the 4 & 6-cylinder cars using total volume in decilitres + number of cylinder plus a suffix based on purpose. Goes without saying this car was not a using a 354S-engine (of 857 Sport & 860 Monza) - neither did a 3.4-litre 5-cylinder engine ever exist.

    OK Athanase but was that front end "from" a Scaglietti 54 factory car or "after" ? I would think it was easier for Scaglietti to create an up-to-date front end on the then Scuderia Guastall's car for Franco Cornacchia than to graft a discarded one. From which car actually? 0428 or 0440 ?

    Man, I'm sorry to say this but heck those '64 GTO's are just **** ugly.

    And I am surprised to see the windscreen is so different to the LM.

    I love Alfa's too , but your both on crack!!! The 64 GTO has a brutal 1960's racecar look to it. One of my favorite Ferrari's. That shot looks slightly distorted.

    Heck that was as harsher response as you could muster ... damn you I'm still trying to rid the current rust :D.
    Well a GTV is most definitely better looking ... seriously, and I've stood beside a replica of a 64 GTO. So I know what they look like in the flesh (assuming it was a good replica).
    What's brutal about it? Now a Cobra, even a Cobra coupe, Mustang, etc. they are brutal looking. The '64 GTO is not as pretty and petite looking as the beautiful '62 but I would never say a 64 GTO was brutal looking, you would have to go to a Competition Daytona before you find a brutal looking front engined Ferrari.

    Anyway everything and everybody has a bad angle for a photo, we've just found the 64 GTO's :D.

    Brutal or masculine looking. With the cold air induction engine cover scoop it doesn't maybe look as pretty as the 62 GTO, but somehow looks faster. One of the best looking Ferrari GT's.

    I took this admittedly bad quality photo at the Nurburgring in the early eighties. Closed bonnet-burlge, beautiful.

    Someone here will come up with the chassis number:)

    IMHO the '64 GTO is more beautiful than the '62 version. It looks wider, nicer windscreen and the whole LM rear is so sexy...

    we are in 100% agreement. The only better looking 60-ies Ferrari is the 250LM.

    Absolutely. There is a position somewhere from three quarter rear which is not perfect but otherwise it is gorgeous, and better in real life than most photos.

    Has anyone a picture of the 340 America with a Fontana coupe-body ? specialy made for a count in the early 50's ...
    Nowadays it has a scaglietti barchetta body and is called 275/340 S..

    However, i am looking for a picture of the car with the Fontana Coupe-body ( i know mister massini has published some in his masterpiece 'making a difference', but it's hard to find..)
